- simsimsere7 years agoSeasoned AceI pick the one I like most/suits the first name best or the one that less sims in my world have.
- You missed an option for your voting. I do the same as @luimistelija and give either the mother's or the father's last name. I base it on to whom I am going to give main caregiving responsibility for the child more than anything else though. If mother and father live in the same household but are not married, I usually go with the father's last name if it is a boy and the mother's if it is a girl. I just hate hyphenated names, they are too long... lol
- Breazona7 years agoSeasoned AceTypically the mother's name, though it varies. If only one parent will be raising the kid, the kid gets that last name. If they plan on getting married I usually give the kid whichever last name the parents will have.
- LilyParker7 years agoRising HotshotThanks for the comments! If it helps, they will be raising any children together. They're currently stranded on a deserted island and can't get married. The best they can do is commit to each other as boyfriend/girlfriend.
- I just use the last name of whoever gave birth to the baby.
- If the parents are in a relationship but unmarried then I give them the fathers name. If it’s a single mum sim then I give it the mother’s name.

I think they should hyphenate the name because they're raising the child together
