Point and click to move isn't that odd. I have seen more than one game with it being one of the multiple control mechanics. The games you have more direct control in, you usually have a more direct connection to the characters. As in, usually you are that character.
This is still a god game, even if it has been toned back a bit. You hop from character to character with the mechanics and while you can give them commands, they do the pathing themselves.
So, for the main PC game this is perfect. If I had to walk each of my household of eight to the toilet manually it would be a nightmare. However, I hit other because I really liked the direct control on the old console ports back when they were not trying to be the exact same game. It felt like a Sims RPG which perfectly suited the hardware and when I like to use controllers. So yeah, I like a good spin off suited for direct control. I miss my spin offs in general, though.
