When a Sim Dies...

Normally, I will strengthen their spirit connection with the world (if only you want their ghost around for a while) by clicking the urn/tomb, else, you can consider to release their spirit to the Netherworld (and, they'll no longer exist in your game), if you don't like the idea of having ghost hanging around..

If you decide to strengthen the spirit connection, you'll have lots of other interaction with the urn/tomb, especially if you have a remembrance day/day of the dead in your calendar. - and it's good for the family to cope with the missing and move on after a while, because you can release the spirit anytime you want..

Thanks @zamira82. I will use the strengthen bonds interaction because I would quite like Bob to visit his family a time or two before I completely let him go.

I’m thinking I need a cemetery. I don’t want Bob to disappear from family trees, but I don’t really want him coming back to haunt a third and fourth generation. It would also be nice to have somewhere for the family to go to remember him in the future -even once the intitial grieving is done.

Now I just have to decide if I download or build.

And has anyone ever had any kind of funeral for their stories? Not sure how something like that might work.

I've actually never built a cemetery. I usually don't play much after my sim dies. Sounds fun though.

Keep the urn and his ghost around and start working toward making ambrosia to bring him back to life.

Make a cemetery lot and have many sims die there >:)

I have decided to build my own cemetery lot because so many of the awesome creations in the gallery had items from packs I don’t own.
I would kinda love to bring Bob back to life @KirbySkywalker but it wouldn’t really fit with my mostly realistic story.
He has two daughters and now a granddaughter to continue on. I’ll let him visit a time or two as a ghost though (I said mostly realistic)

That sounds cool @kalaksed. I don’t have vampires personally (yet).

If you're lucky or if you use mccc to unhide hidden households, you will find his ghost in manage households.. favorite him and he will not disappear. Also, if the urn is placed in inventory the ghost will not visit.

Ooh, do let us see your build when it's done. I've still not gotten so far in my game yet... not one single death (I'm the queen of start-overs lol. But I'm determined to see my current game through).

The cemetery is a cool idea! Whenever I play a legacy game, I will make sure to have 1 cemetery somewhere in the world. In one of my saved games, I have a family cemetery and there's mausoleum too, with an underground labyrinth..because one of the founder's children is a vampire. So, the place have at least 2 functions, which is to be the last resting place for the family & the venue for the family vampires gathering spot.. The only problem that I encounter is either to identify the place as a generic or a park.

@zamira82 you mentioning a mausoleum just reminded me I actually have a cemetary in my game! I had forgotten, as it is in Forgotten Hollow which I hardly ever visit. It's really beautifully done (I downloaded it) and has a crypt underneath with coffins etc. I turned it into an underground vampire nightclub.
