- 2020 would be a good year for the Sims 5 to come out, to mark the 20th Anniversary of the original sims game.
- MeadowbrookSims8 years agoSeasoned AceSadly not until 2020 or 2021 or somewhere around there. Which means by that time the game will be a rats-nest of bugs and errors

What year do you think will be The Sims 4 last year before its no longer being developed for?
Sims 1 2000-2003
Sims 2 2004-2008
Sims 3 2009-2013
Sims 4 2014-20??
TS3 didn’t end in 2013. The store released plenty of new content in 2014. - Sigzy_298 years agoLegend

Considering that they are doing 1 EP a year and some people are still waiting for Seasons, University, Generations, and other EPs I do not see it ending in a few years. Also, they've stated to stop working on Sims 4 when there is nothing else to add.
They are never making a generations EP with Parenthood released, for sure. I can see TS4 getting two more EP max. It's probably end in either a GP or a few SP's. - JeanVW8 years agoSeasoned AceProbably 2020 with the 20th anniversary.
- I voted beyond 2025 because the thought of this forum then amuses me greatly. :D
I want it to go as long as the devs want to and are able to keep working on it. I'm sure Sims 3 players would say that game ended 'too early' for whatever arbitrary reason, and I wouldn't want Sims 4 to end just because of something arbitrary like the franchise anniversary. The gurus have said they expect it to go longer than previous versions, and not to take past release patterns as current ways to predict things, so I'm hoping for that. Unlikely that EA would draw the game out for more than 6-7 years. Definitely not over 10.
Going longer than previous installments could be as little as a year. A 2020 end for Sims 4 would be 7, which is 2 longer than Sims 3. Regardless, those plans are all determinant on the game continuing to be profitable. As any product ages it becomes less profitable, it’s just the reality of the product life cycle. With the price increases across several countries on Sims titles it will be interesting to see if that does pose a potential decline in sales.- ChadSims28 years agoRising Rookie

Which would mean Sims 4 could go on forever we hardly got anything its taking multiple packs to get what we got in one expansion in the past. Nightlife for example Sims 4 it has taken Vampires > Dine Out > Bowling Night > City Living(Downtown) and we are still missing cars and romance which will now will be sold separately if we get either at all. Sims 4 could last forever if we are waiting for there to be nothing else to add or even just the basics.
