Where are Spicy Mushrooms?

Am I missing something?

Spicy mushrooms are part of an errand I have. I can’t find info on them being seasonal. I see nightly mushroom mounds in Bramblewood, but no actual mushrooms to harvest, and none spicy. I can only find verdant mushrooms in the food stalls. This is after trying daily for several in-game weeks to find them.

  • In my Main Save, I placed two of the brothers and their new wives in HoB. Working from screen left, you have the vacant 40 X 50 lot, the same size lot next to it and another lot. I replaced the fourth one from screen left with a lot I built myself. There on the front lawn was a spicy mushroom. My Sim could only eat it, however. And of course, it's not the game save that required it as an Errand. But, I may have to send said Sim to that location …

@Kathykins if the Errand is for that Food Stall, what is a Sim do do?

I've found an easy way to do it if they just aren't showing up.

Open the cheats console (CRTL+Shift+C on PC). Type bb.showhiddenobjects. Search spicy mushroom.

Once you do that, you'll be able to buy them from Build/Buy.
  • From what I've seen, (In game no cheats) is that either it is gifted from a Henford favor, or wandering around the open world off your lot, you may randomly be able to harvest some.
  • I’ve found and grown spicy mushrooms. I’ve even grown nightly mushrooms, finally.

Now I can’t find rainbow treats. Midnight treats either.
  • I found that most of those mushrooms, with the exception of the verdant mushroom, only pop out during winter. I thought for a long time that my game was glitched because I couldn't find any mushrooms. Fact was, they mostly spawn during winter...definitely not during spring and summer which I think is a little weird, but hey, this is EA. :D
  • In my newest game save there was a spicy mushroom just outside of Erik Cantrell's 'cottage' in HoB. I decided to have him eat it. So, he did. Wow, did that thing pack a slightly delayed punch. It was almost like watching him eat at the Spice Festival. LOL

The treats are available at the Crumplebottom’s garden stall, but not always. The inventory changes daily so you have to check everyday but one thing to make your search easier is the inventory is listed in alphabetical order.

You can also get the treats in debug if you don’t mind cheating a bit, and once you get the treats in your inventory you can get the recipe in your notebook and make them yourself.
  • They seem to be far more common my second "year" in the woods. The spring I started the game at I got single patches of strange mushrooms here and there, the second spring I get proper "Witch Rings" (that's what we call them in Sweden) of mushrooms in the forest, large circles with 10-20 individual pickable mushrooms.

Her stall finally had rainbow treats! I’ve looked dozens of times, but today was the day I found some. Still looking for midnights, and I think I’ll have them all.
