Where are the cultural skills?

Something i really liked about Jungle adventure was the addition of the Selvadoradian culture skill. This actually gave your sims the change t learn about the new culture and gain things from this aswell. I thought this was such a fun new thing to the game and i assumed we would be getting more of them with future packs. But now we have had 2 packs that should in my opinion have included this skill. These packs are Island living and Snowy escape. I really don't understand why they didn't add this in especially since both packs have such a huge focus on the culture the pack is based on. With Island living for example you could learn new recipes, new dances, greetings and more lore about the world you currently live in i don't know it just feels like a wasted oppurtunity to me that they didn't do this

I think the culture skill is a little weird in worlds you live in. Your sims can be born and live there, so why do they need to learn about the culture like foreigners? It feels off-putting and immersion breaking to me. I think it's better that we can equip them with traits like "proper" to make them suit the culture of the new worlds more.

Yeah i can see what you mean by that. However it would have been cool to at least have the option i think.
  • But there are, you learn new recipes when levelling up cooking for instance, and new skills and things to do are added for each pack.

Selvadorada is a vacation world, so all played sims are only and ever visiting, unlike Sulani and Mt Komorebi, where there are premades living, and sims can be placed to live as default, first thing.

The game is produced in US but bought all over the world; it would be very odd to assume that 'over there' is always seen from the same perspective, whether it be sims or players looking at it. They would have to add a culture skill for Willow Creek and Oasis Springs then, as well as every world; and while a fun idea, it would also defeat the purpose of having a flexible take on identity, that the game benefits greatly from.
  • If a sim is on vacation in the SE world then learning culture skills would be appropriate. Would also be appropriate for a SE based sim to be learning culture if they go to, say, the suggested Willow Creek. Same goes for Sulani natives that are not townies.
  • How about introducing a new "culture system" altogether? I'd like to imagine the main interface of this being under the Simology panel, like, a new section called "Influences", or "Culture", or something. It would contain a Sim's place of origin (like Mua Pel'am, Sulani), political view, traits that were gained from earlier life states (like Bad Manners from Parenthood; also, the traits section needs some decluttering), favorites (music, weather, movie genre, etc.), cultural background/knowledge (where the aforementioned cultural skills would be found), and other similar stuff.

I prefer it like this, modder have implemented similar system like this where sims will be assigned hidden trait based on which world they live in after installing the mod so sim from willow creek have limited interaction to sims from mt komorebi unless they learn komorebian language skill first.
