Which do you like more? Active or Rabbithole Classes

I have no actual preference. I liked the rabbitholes in TS2 and the lectures in TS3, so I’m open to both. We’ll see how it works in TS4.

Active!! I didn’t have any University EP before but I’d love active classes. If my sims could do something other than just sit there like :
- listen.
- Not listen.
- Ask questions.
- Take notes.
- Sleep through it.
- Disrupt the class.
- Draw instead of listening.
- Talking with their neighbor.
- Throw paper planes.
- Etc

I am be fine with both, perhaps a very small preference for rabbit holes. Watching classes seems a bit boring and the rabbit hole classes in sims 2 never bothered me.
But I do hope we can see class projects, writing papers or study groups.

I liked how it was done in TS3; some active and some not.

It really depends on how the rest of university life plays. If it feels full of details and fun stuff to do, creative ways for your sims to study and evolve that are not just copy/paste from the basegame etc
I am not a fan of GTW active careers but simply saying that university classes would be boring and repetitive doesn't cut it for me either. There are ways to make them not repetitive and boring but that would require resources used on that instead of other aspects of the pack. The question could of course then be "why can't we have both? Active dynamic and fun clases + a lot of other activities and fun stuff to do". It is an Expansion Pack after all. But we know the answer to this already at this point.
Saying that TS2 also had rabbit hole classes and was still a great pack is true, but it is also a pack that was released in 2005. Shouldn't the fourth iteration of the game offer more and not the same or less than what it offered 14 years ago?

Having rabbit hole classes means I can send a sim off to class while still being able to play with my other sims. As someone who plays with large families I find this preferable. I just hope we can attend classes while still living at home.
As it is, I found active classes uninteresting in the Sims 3 and classes being rabbit holes means that more time was probably put into the other more interesting parts of attending university.

The argument, "because active classes would be boring if they were active" sounds to me like arguing to not have fishing, writing or any activity in a game. Because that is boring and takes a long time to do in real life. But this is not real life, this is a video game, so make the classes fun just as you made fishing and writing fun to do in the game.

Have sims learn different skills, give them the possibility to work in a group to solve a case, give us the option to take notes so we can review them later, have different progression bars, give us the option to choose what to learn during a class...

For me and how I play, there is no way in a game like The Sims to make active classes interesting and not incredibly repetitive by the second or third time around. But I understand that others feel differently about it and that it may have very well added a lot to their game.

If active classes were like active gtw careers then that would be cool, but that's doubtful so rabbithole is better. In Sims 3 I never went with my sims to their classes, it was boring.
