Which Goths Do You Prefer?

Since I did a makeover on new Bella and new Cassie, in the interest of fairness I did one on the old versions...

yeah I did not include old games on purpose cause we all know they would win the poll and then the real question gets side tracked :sweat_smile:

personally liked ts1 better than ts2 too though because ts1 bella is more fancy and snobbish and morty is less of old creep in ts1 with his fancy purple suit they just were a better matched couple then

I don't have nostalgia towards the Goths from previous games so I found the 2014 versions just fine.

The updated Goths ain't it. These efforts towards remaking the base game sims seem completely unnecessary to me. People who have issues/concerns with premade sims already have so many options to address them. Deleting sims... giving a personal makeover... grabbing something similar off the Gallery. As some have said it's been 8 years. Anybody really bothered by a sim's look would have done something about it by now. I don't get why the devs felt the need to do this.

Well on the bright side at least these changes don't effect existing saves.

I prefer the old versions because the new ones just don't feel like the goths anymore.

Do I mind the darker skintones? Not at all. It is all other changes I don't like.

Bella was always the most iconic goth to me. The new face is an improvement, but the hair is so not Bella. And the iconic red strapless dress she had in sims 1, sims 2 and for 8 years in the sims 4... Why replace that with a dress style everyone wears nowadays?

Cassandra always looked like a bit of an outsider, and one who likes being an outsider. I feel like peer pressure finally got to her and she now wants to fit in in high school.

And Alexander... I just want to ask that new child 'who are you, and where is Alexander?' It is just a completely different child.

In short this new family looks nice, but they are not the goths I have known and liked for the past 5 years. Which leaves me with two options. Keep the old ones and *fix* their skintones. Or use the new ones and fix their hair and clothing. And of course turn them back into spellcasters. ;) I think I will just stick with the old ones for now, less fuss.

Not me only now realizing that Alexander ages up to kid AFTER Bella disappears so now my whole story timeline is off *sighs*

well I suppose its already off anyway because I'm sending Cassandra straight to university instead of private school yes I will just blame it on alexander for alternating the timeline

maybe he did that umbrella academy nonsense time jumping stuff and hes been old man all along who knows

actually maybe this is why they didn't do lore for ts4 cause we didn't have toddlers at release *conspiracy monocle*

I like the new Bella, yes really, she is still a queen, maybe Mortimer too, but now when I look at the kids with the darker skintones than their parents, I feel like bella cheated on Mortimer. This felt so out of personality for her. That's why I don't like the new looks generally.

I will always love our original sims 1 Version of the Goth family <3
I did attempt to remake them when we had sims 3, have not done it yet in sims 4. Do not like the new versions, so might just finally take them into CAS and try and redo my sims 3 make over of them again. Here is a pic of what I did many moons ago ;)

My own

I updated all my Bella's & resaved them in the Gallery under SEREFRAS if any simmer wants to check them out. I only play with vanilla & all my packs/kits. ;)

They made Alexander with completly wrong facial features when he age up and wrong skin color (he is supposed to have the same skin color as his dad). He look so wrong. Bella look too old for a young adult, too much wrinkles and the skin tone need to be more warm.

The lore update is a failure. :'(
