Which lots spawn vendors for (food) stalls?

I want to build a community lot where my sims can go shopping. I don't want a retail store but a community lot with the stalls that sell produce and ingredients. The stalls I want to add are the grocery stall from cottage living , the fish stall from cats and dogs and the produce stall from city living. Maybe also a stall from realm of magic. The reason why I want to use stalls is because I want my sims to able to buy ingredients like milk and flour.

I Is there any lot type that will automatically spawn vendors for these stalls?
  • Thank you all for your replies. I am going to try the market place lot and see what I can do with the stalls.

Another thing--I think even the Community Space and all 3 of its lot subtypes will NOT spawn the Cottage Living stalls. Correct me if I'm wrong but I am obsessed with these lot types and I haven't ever been able to get them to spawn.

What will spawn vendors: almost any other market stall, including the Fish of the Day from Cats and Dogs, the debug produce stall from City Living, and the Florist from MWS.

I was especially interested in the cottage living ones because they sell things like flour and sugar which can't be sold in retail or bought in other stalls. I will try and test them.

I don't know if this is relevant to thread but I did found out that the mod Auto Employees from LittleMsSam can spawn vendors on lots with food stalls.

I know about this mod but hope to find a solution without mods. I try to limit mods to the absolute minimum because of the frequent often mod breaking updates.
  • @jennieeffin I unfortunately have to confirm that the cottage living stalls don't work with the eco lifestyle community spaces. All the others seem to work, including the weird ones like the strangerville stall, batuu milk stall and the realm of magic booths. Basically everything except cottage living works. Unfortunately the hire vendor option is not working on eco lifestyle community spaces.

Luckily it is possible to hire a vendor for the cottage living stalls on lots that are not eco lifestyle community lots. So I guess I will make a park and just hire vendors when I need them. The benefit of a park is that I can hire up to 8 vendors, compared to only 3 on a community space.

Here I hired vendors for 100§ each. A regular vendor shows up for the cottage living ones.

That's a bummer! Thank you for confirming. I do a combination of things--I have the non Cottage Living stalls up on Community Spaces but I place the CL Grocer stall on other community lots. For example, if I have a farm-to-table restaurant or a grocery "store" somewhere, I often place one of these stalls. It acts as a way for me to play realistically and also allows me to "tax" my sims who garden. Even though they spend $100 on hiring the vendor they almost always make it up and then some by selling their produce.
  • I know it is possible to hire a vendor but I am hoping there is some lot type that spawns them on their own. Just like some community lots spawn bar keepers and some don't.
  • I just got Seasons and it added food stalls to a few places. Like there's one in the community lot where Johnny Zest lives,
    for example.
