- Joanne_Snow6 years agoLegendI love witches, always have, but Dine Out is probably my most used GP of them all. I just love restaurants, my sims dine at them all the time & I absolutely love making them lol. Even running them is fun compared to all the other retail-type jobs we have.
It can be buggy on occasion, but it really depends on your system as well I think. I really don't know. My sims will rarely wait much longer than an hour for their food if I make the restaurants not too cluttered and put in 2 kitchens instead of one - which sounds long, but in sim time that's actually really short :)
So my vote goes to DO, still, and despite having ROM. - annaliese396 years agoSeasoned AceI chose Dine Out because I really enjoy taking my sims out to restaurants, but it really depends on your own play style which pack will suit you better. I really like Realm of Magic too, but I don't use it as much, particularly as my main sim is a vampire. If we had hybrids, I would probably love it a lot more since I really enjoy supernatural gameplay. Vintage Glamour is also one of my favourite SPs. I love the vintage themed BB and butlers are particularly great for rich and/or celebrity sims. Strangerville is probably my least favourite GP, but that's only because I personally prefer creating my own stories. I still like the world, career, and CAS/BB though. Perhaps check out the SimsVIP guides or some reviews if you haven't already to see which pack appeals to you the most.
- I chose Realm of Magic because I really like some of the time-saving spells in the practical branch, like scrubaroo and repairo. They were a life saver when I sent a Sim to university. However, I also love Dine Out because it gives a great activity for my Sims to go on dates or hangout with a friend or two.
- mariefoxprice836 years agoSeasoned AceI chose ROM because I love magic, I love the CAS and I love the build/buy items. I would have loved to have "more" magic in the game, yes, and particularly for kids to be able to do a few spells, but it was one of the packs I was most anticipating and I love it. I enjoy the content from Vintage Glamour and with Strangerville but I have only attempted the main story in Strangerville in 2 different saves (my sim died the first time I tried) and I'm in no hurry to use it again so I will probably ignore the town in my current save. I don't own Dine Out because I've heard it doesn't work that well.
- alexspoom136 years agoSeasoned AceDefinitely Dine Out, even if it's broken at the moment. ? (Sims not eating autonomously)
- LadyKyn6 years agoSeasoned AceBetween dine out and realm of magic for me.
I like Dine out because build/buy is great, plus my sims have a nice place to sit down and eat for dates or just family dinners. Got the new recipes and gourmet skill as well. Haven't owned a resturaunt in long time just like building or downloading lots.
Realm of Magic is nice because one can cause a lot of mischeif with magic. Love the clothes and build/buy as well. I do love the new world as well, but I have just a few sims that are magic users. Think I use resturaunts more than anything, but if you're into occult sims then this is for you.
I liked Strangerville. Build/buy i really love. Once you complete the mystery of strangerville which is linear you might not return to it. I like blackmailing sims when i bug them and the army career. ? CAS is pretty nice too for both genders as well, plus I like the desert world.
Vintage Glamour is a decent stuff pack if you have sims that live the fancy life and need a butler. The furniture is just lovely and the vanity is my favorite object in it as well as the juice globe. CAS is fairly nice, but lacking a lot. - LiELF6 years agoLegendA lot depends on your play style. But if you're a flexible player, I definitely vote for Realm of Magic.
I know that there are people who have an issue with the pack, but I think most issues are largely due to what was expected as opposed to whether or not the pack is a good one.
Personally, I think it's awesome. The magic realm itself is divine and I love to have my Spellcasters just hang out there and duel and study and make potions and do random things. It also comes with a residential neighborhood, Glimmerbrook, which is gorgeous and full of trees and greenery.
The build/buy and CAS are gorgeous as well, with whimsical build items and a lot of unique designs to wear.
The gameplay allows for creating any type of magically imbued that you like. You can make Witches, Mages, Wizards, alchemists, Voodoo Mambos, Hermits, etc. There are different spell paths to choose from and you can follow a specific one or dabble in all, as you choose for each Sim.
There are Familiars to choose from, but if you have Cats and Dogs, your pet can also serve as your Familiar, which is great.
So while there are a few places where the pack falls short, it is, after all, only a Game Pack and definitely worth its weight overall. :) - "Realm of Magic." I mean, the magic system is kind of grindy, but it's useful for not having to spend time/money cooking, cleaning, or repairing things and you can have a rocket broom. The Art Nouveau-inspired aesthetic is really lovely too...especially if you love stained glass. Plus, if you're more of a realism player, the magic stuff is easy to avoid.
"Strangerville" is great if you want to send your sims on a quest and bead a big, bad boss monster; "Vintage Glamor" has some nice-looking stuff and a buttler; and "Dine Out" is buggy...but, at least you have a new date spot. "Babykittyjade;c-17531330" wrote:
It's hard to say without knowing if you have any preferences. I love them all for different reasons. I chose vintage glamour for the butler. I use him for all of my rich sims lol and he literally does everything.
I like them all! Thats why I did this poll- SEREFRAS6 years agoLegendThe Spellcaster lifestates has really cool powers & perks that are way more powerful then the the other lifestates. Also, you can make elves or superheroes from the Spellcaster traits. Glimmerbrook has very pretty landscapes. Furthermore, the Magical Portal is so cool to use for many fantasy & sci-fi themes.
