- My sim gained weight - she wasn't exercising and living off pizza rolls so it's understandable I guess. Her roomies are overweight from the get go though, as soon as they move in! I'll try putting some gym equipment and deleting the endless food they miraculously seem to find in a random corner of the balcony.
- SheriSim6 years agoSeasoned AceI was thinking of putting a treadmill in each of the dorms, I was wondering if you kick the premade sims out of a dorm and put them back in after adding and changing things around in a dorm, how do you get them back into the dorm? And do they keep their same classes and things when you do put them back in the dorm? Also if you play the premades in one dorm, what happens to the premades in the other dorms? Do they continue going to school if they are a favorited in inactive household, or are they on pause?
- Because they eat garbage. Seriously. They bring the most high calorie stuff to the dorms, no wonder they are fat. Cookies, cakes, and lobster thermidor.

I never had a problem with my Sims gaining weight until Island Living with it's 'helpful' neighbors coming by and dropping off food. Now it looks as if this questionable tradition has made it's way into DU. We were told this wouldn't happen unless the active Sim's hunger bar was low. It doesn't matter if my Sims are hungry or just finished a meal, those townies show up with plates of kahlua pork sometimes twice a day. Why did the teams think this was something we'd want in DU? I am a rotational player, and try to stick with spending three to four days with each of my played Sims, but whenever I return to a lot, my Sims have gained a lot of weight during my absence. As with the sick pets I am getting upon returning to a lot, now there is the problem of my Sims becoming overweight. This really makes rotational play difficult. The more research I do into DU, the more inclined I am to wait until the modders come up with a few fixes for the irritating stuff happening that makes no sense, and has no meaningful purpose. When DU was announced I was not excited at all. Then I saw all the new features, watched a couple Let's Play vods, and the update fixed some of the bugs I have been experiencing, allowing me to delete over twenty mods. So I thought I'd like to add DU to my library. Now I'm not going to do it. From everything I have read here in the forum, there are many things going on that have nothing to do with our Sims getting an education, and actually add to the list of irritations that will require adding more mods back into my game.
The teams added new meal options to the microwave, then made eating those new meals a way to torment our Sims with an uncomfortable moodlet. Why? Where is the logic in doing that? I'd be forced to cheat in order to make my Sim happy by cancelling that moodlet. Random Sims wander in and leave plates of food everywhere to spoil and make every Sim in the dorm uncomfortable. Time management is already difficult enough with classes, university events, holidays, homework, and building skills. Why did the teams make leftover food an issue in all of this? It is not amusing, it does not add relevant gameplay, and it is irritating because it is illogical. The active, playable Sim then has to drop everything and clean the entire dorm which cuts into the time needed to complete homework or attend an event. And these are just one or two of the irritations I have read about that are keeping me from buying DU. I'll wait for the smoke to clear, and see what the modders can do before I buy this pack.
Yeah, I have some mods that are helping me with that already.- Zerbu made a mod that removes the stove restriction for university housing.
- MC Command Center have an option in MC tuning that makes sims clean things and also repair things automatically.
- Roburky's Fitness Controls mod have an option so that unplayed sims does not change their weight.

- PurpleStarBoy6 years agoSeasoned NoviceRiding bike is the best exercise for my sim. It is the fast way to increase the fitness.
- paigeisin56 years agoSeasoned Ace@logion I don't have the pack yet. And thanks for the info on those mods. I have MCCC, and I do use it to calm down a lot of irritations. I'd never heard about Roburky's Fitness Controls but it looks like it could be a good one to have if you are a rotational player. I guess the amount of food being generated since Island Living is supposed to be funny? If it is, I don't get the joke. I'd expect to see pizza boxes everywhere in the dorms rather than platters of lobster thermador.

Just pause the game and drag the food to a trash can, doesn’t that work in University like any other lots?
Yes you can! I just drag all the leftover plates of food to the trash chute while my Sim is sleeping.. no gross plates of food in the morning! It also works for any other piles of trash, or dirty dishes lying around the dorms. - mariefoxprice836 years agoSeasoned AceI hired a maid as soon as my sim could afford to do so.
- Yoga mats - you can take them in and out of your Sim's inventory wherever there is space to put one down. (They also get your Sim in a focused or creative mood for class.)

I would say 98% of my NPC uni roommates are really overweight. Is this by design or a bug? I don’t mind a chunky sim, I’m not a stick insect myself but it’s everybody! I’m playing with no cc/mods.
Is it they gain weight over time, Or if when your Sim entered the college they were all over weight? If it's the the 2nd one, it's by design. Just like the name generator was set by design to spawn more Japenese names that any other. The townie/NPC generator is known for pear shaped male hips and over weight Sims 99% of the time.
