- elliebreton6 years agoLegendI noticed that all my sims (not just uni ones) are piling on the weight.
The roomies needed editing anyway with their horrendous outfits and names, so while I was in cas I just reshaped their bodies a little :D It seems to let you do that without the need of a cheat. "Cinebar;c-17319645" wrote:

I would say 98% of my NPC uni roommates are really overweight. Is this by design or a bug? I don’t mind a chunky sim, I’m not a stick insect myself but it’s everybody! I’m playing with no cc/mods.
Is it they gain weight over time, Or if when your Sim entered the college they were all over weight? If it's the the 2nd one, it's by design. Just like the name generator was set by design to spawn more Japenese names that any other. The townie/NPC generator is known for pear shaped male hips and over weight Sims 99% of the time.
When I moved into the dorm, all the roommates spawned were already overweight. Likewise, students who spawn for the student hangouts are the same. I’m playing four students rotationally in various types of student housing, and almost every last roomie has been v large.- logionX6 years agoLegend

@logion I don't have the pack yet. And thanks for the info on those mods. I have MCCC, and I do use it to calm down a lot of irritations. I'd never heard about Roburky's Fitness Controls but it looks like it could be a good one to have if you are a rotational player. I guess the amount of food being generated since Island Living is supposed to be funny? If it is, I don't get the joke. I'd expect to see pizza boxes everywhere in the dorms rather than platters of lobster thermador.
If they did not do it, then they would starve if you would not place down a fridge. I think they bring a lot of food to prevent them from starving, it's probably a tuning file where they are told to bring food regularly, and the developers probably set it to pretty high to prevent them from starving and also make the dorm seem more dirty. It's probably the same script from Island Living or maybe even a second script on top of that. So that's why they bring so much food.
As for the food choices, I think it's the developers trying to be funny. - burnished_dragon6 years agoSeasoned AceMy roomies keep bring cookies and cake - one of my sims got the eating too much unhealthy food buff. I didn't customize the dorm before I moved my sim in. Before next semester I definitely will or move to off campus housing.

I never had a problem with my Sims gaining weight until Island Living with it's 'helpful' neighbors coming by and dropping off food. Now it looks as if this questionable tradition has made it's way into DU. We were told this wouldn't happen unless the active Sim's hunger bar was low. It doesn't matter if my Sims are hungry or just finished a meal, those townies show up with plates of kahlua pork sometimes twice a day. Why did the teams think this was something we'd want in DU? I am a rotational player, and try to stick with spending three to four days with each of my played Sims, but whenever I return to a lot, my Sims have gained a lot of weight during my absence. As with the sick pets I am getting upon returning to a lot, now there is the problem of my Sims becoming overweight. This really makes rotational play difficult. The more research I do into DU, the more inclined I am to wait until the modders come up with a few fixes for the irritating stuff happening that makes no sense, and has no meaningful purpose. When DU was announced I was not excited at all. Then I saw all the new features, watched a couple Let's Play vods, and the update fixed some of the bugs I have been experiencing, allowing me to delete over twenty mods. So I thought I'd like to add DU to my library. Now I'm not going to do it. From everything I have read here in the forum, there are many things going on that have nothing to do with our Sims getting an education, and actually add to the list of irritations that will require adding more mods back into my game.
The teams added new meal options to the microwave, then made eating those new meals a way to torment our Sims with an uncomfortable moodlet. Why? Where is the logic in doing that? I'd be forced to cheat in order to make my Sim happy by cancelling that moodlet. Random Sims wander in and leave plates of food everywhere to spoil and make every Sim in the dorm uncomfortable. Time management is already difficult enough with classes, university events, holidays, homework, and building skills. Why did the teams make leftover food an issue in all of this? It is not amusing, it does not add relevant gameplay, and it is irritating because it is illogical. The active, playable Sim then has to drop everything and clean the entire dorm which cuts into the time needed to complete homework or attend an event. And these are just one or two of the irritations I have read about that are keeping me from buying DU. I'll wait for the smoke to clear, and see what the modders can do before I buy this pack.
Just pause the game and drag the food to a trash can, doesn’t that work in University like any other lots?
It does work, but it can get tedious. There's already a mod available to stop people from bringing food. - thatsme_ever6 years agoSeasoned AceThis has been happening to my game as well since Island Living, though I do have a lot of Mods and CC, so they may affect the whole situation, but I'm not completely certain. Cake does add up the calories a lot. I don't own the game myself yet, but I've watched many Discover University YouTube videos and I noticed that roommates leave many pretty fancy foods lying around in the dorms. And... too many cakes! :D

Yoga mats - you can take them in and out of your Sim's inventory wherever there is space to put one down. (They also get your Sim in a focused or creative mood for class.)
This is an excellent tip. After reading this I added a couple of yoga mats to the dorm, my sim is getting in shape and becoming focussed for her homework.
I even saw one of the npc roommates using the mat. - Wieght game appears to be a real problem in Uni! And, so far, none of the usual efforts or lifestyle changes help. My student is seriously considering moving out of the university neighborhood and taking a break from acedemics for a time to see if doing so will make any difference. (She lives off campus in the Uni nieghborhood.)
- The dreaded Freshmen 15lbs strikes again! PS Sorry if someone already made that joke. I'm actually just skimming the forums right now because I'm taking a mini-break from working on my college essay. :D
