Why are so many bugs NEVER FIXED

I just came across a "new" (to me) bug today: Female Servos cannot hover.
That bug was reported in JUNE. Last "me too" was Three weeks ago. How many patches has been out since Jun 13th?

There are so so many bugs that obviously are being ignored. but i guess STAR WARS was important?
Again, there are bugs still in the game that were reported before 2019!!! It is quite obvious that someone makes a conscious decision not to fix bugs.

  • ...I ended up deleting her in Manage Households and will have to make 32 new components and create a male one since this bug isn't fixed.
At least I play without aging on so it's n ot like I have to watch my Sims die of age while trying to replace the bugged robot.
  • They can only fix bugs that they can replicate on their system in a completely vanilla never modded game. Because that’s how they develop the patch for a bug. They recreate it in their system and then figure out how to correct the coding without hopefully causing a new bug. They can’t account for bugs caused by mods, cc, save corruption, some sort of system inadequacy or in compatibility on the user’s end. That’s why it’s so tricky and some never get fixed.

They also said on Twitter a short while ago that patches are months in the working. So for example the patch coming December 8, has likely been being assembled since October. So that’s another reason it takes awhile to see fixes.

I know how it works. And this particular bug is not super-wide spreads (I think there are only 10 Mee Toos on it).
It, like the Washing Machine bug might only occur on certain system configurations (tho I have nothing on my system that is remarkable; an Intel i5 processor, an NVIDIA 1050 card. Stock old war horse stuff).

BUT: It is one of those bugs that should be rather easily identified:

If the absolutely only difference between two servos is their gender (and it is), then there should be easy to just check... is the female gender flag altering something, ANYTHING, that the male gender flag does not?

It is, as it is occurring with very clear conditions, one of those bugs that should not require hours of finding the end of thread to start unraveling.

I understand that there are bugs that are hard to pin down, but this has only one major flag to start looking at. Is the female flag doing anything else, at all, whatsoever, anything anything ANYTHING different than the male flag? Yes? Then start there.

Is it widely reported? Because if it’s not it might be falling toward the bottom of the priority scale.
  • There are tons of bugs from really old EPs and GPs that never get fixed. Some of them have existed for a long time and are widespread.
  • There is a long list of created bug reports, on AHQ. I think most of them need more Me Too's to be considered widely experienced.

In my personal opinion, most of the bug reports are also lacking severely in details referring the issue.

I think that anyone wanting things to get along would be interested in trying to replicate the described issue and then in turn, in the same report, describe the steps on how to make that possible for the EA quality analysis.
  • Since Snowy Escape the option for staying out of spotlight in Get Famous was broken and after the last patch it's still broken -.-
  • Here it is, it has got 148 Me Too's and seems quite active.
