I don't know how you run a business, but in my game, customers shop. I had a furniture store currently and I earn 12-15K every day with all employees are maxed on their skills, and all of the perks are purchased. While I do see some customers talking, its only a minority and majority of my customers was browsing the items. Mostly also when I saw a group of sims talking, my employee was there who is assigned to answer customers question. I just let her do it then moments later those sims in the group will be ready to rung up.
So I wanted to ask, how do you run your business in The Sims 4? How come that at most I always saw others saying that after 10hrs they only had 1-3 sales where I can reach up to 15+? Keep in mind the mods that I use is only the MC Command Center for story progression along with MC cheats, and the Happy Buffs Change to fine.
Well you said it yourself, you're achieving what you do because everything is maxed out and you've purchased all the perks. I would think a reply giving tips on how to max out the skills and earn the points to purchase perks would be more helpful than comparing your high sales with someone's low sales. It's also a little rude.
I am very sorry if I appeared to be rude. I never meant it that way. It is the reason why I asked at the end, how do you run your business in The Sims 4? By giving your information I can help you to identify what had you experienced in running a retail store and what problems did you encounter that to me appears to be normal. However I would also like to thank you for giving me an idea. I might try to have my other sims to own a retail system from the beginning then capture images to create a guide for players to enjoy that feature as much as I do.
Thank you, I think this will help - the guide I used was from Carl's website, and it was informative, but as all guides are, some details are left to be discovered. I don't have a method of running the business yet as I had only just started it an hour or two before coming to the forum. I decided to run a store to see if it was a faster way to earn money than being in the GTW careers or rabbit hole careers, and I started with just a 10K store build and used 10K for items to put on the shelves (and subsequently discovered that with the 3-tier glass shelves, only the bottom shelf can be restocked, the sim complains and says they can't for some unknown reason on the 2nd and 3rd shelves). I wasn't able to hire any employees so I worked the store myself (and I admit I used a cheat to disable my sim's needs decay because there was nothing but a toilet on the lot to care for needs, and she's gotta make some money to afford anything more).
I also discovered that there is apparently a shopping meter over the sim's heads that only shows up once in awhile, and when that meter gets full, or close to full, they will make a purchase. Through research today, I have learned that you can speed it up if you use retail interactions such as answer questions and suggest options on that sim, but not having the meter always visible is frustrating. Now there's an idea for any modders reading this!
I had the do the same with you. The only cheat that I use when running a retail store was the make happy cheat to fill their needs. It will take days for you to earn a lot of money. It is normal if you only had 2-3 sims to be rung up every day, but as a business owner, you have to find a way to increase it.
My suggestion would be go to settings then check the box that says
Traditional Social Menu.(I can't remember where part is this on the option is). Then when you interact an customer, clicking on them will automatically bring up the social category. It will be easier for you to find the retail socials more quickly. At the beginning there are only three socials that are available. However the longer you talk with them the more socials. You must interact with the customer on a retail store as always.
The meter will only be visible if they are browsing or your sim is interacting with them. In my experience it will only decrease once your sim interact with them and either your sim or your customer was in a bad mood. While the bar disappeared, the blue inside of it will remain the same.
When interact have your sim be in a confident mood. The close the deal interaction will become available, so while your sim was interacting with their customers, you can use that interaction to complete the curb appeal bar(the blue bar) to be fulled instantly, so they will by instantly. That is where the retail perks come into play. Buy the green simoleon sign. Place it inside of your store. Now by turning it on, your sim will be on the confident emotion state, which will let you use the close the deal interaction again. If you wanted to have more sales, then use the retail perks, because those are vital for your business if you want to have many customers to be rung up. From 2-3 customers, using the retail perks you can rung up 15-20 customers a day.
I approve that you didn't hire any employees. However don't get to long alone. Because once you follow what I said on the last paragraph, you will not be able to keep up on cleaning, restocking, and ringing up customers.
