Because Simlish is easier to code for the speech worldwide. I wouldn't mind Sims having different names than just English ones and more cultures. You can actually copy and paste different names with the accents on them. I've done it with French names before. I actually would be curious if it worked for language characters too like Chinese and Japanese.
Alt codes! Renée. ALT+0233 = é - I wasn't looking for an actual answer, the original question/riddle was just a totally random though of mine. I love that they speak simlish.. I sometimes speak it myself lol.
- DeKaythePUNKSeasoned VanguardI see Simlish as a language/mother tongue. You can have English names but still be able to speak Chinese, Tamil, etc etc. :D

This. I also think that like the United States, SimNation is built on immigrants, which could explain why there is a wide variety of ethnicities in their community. - I read somewhere they chose simlish because legally they couldn't use English language. Makes sense. Simlish is a combo of different real languages and some made up. They used Ukrainian, English and some other languages I can't remember.

Fun fact -- the Sims have different names in the various official translations. Below is the link to Bella Goth's wiki. Scroll to the bottom to see what she's named around the world.

I would've disliked it if Sims spoke a real language. Simlish favors all nations and ages equally not. However, in order for anything to work and be user-friendly, an understandable language has to be used for the interface at least.
When dealing with products, users, and business, many things must be taken into account. A rigid line of black/white thinking will not benefit anyone when everything comes down to it. "citysimmer;c-17278972" wrote:
What would a Simlish name look like?
Shloopie Attuney? XD
Imagine a sim practising a speech in fron of the mirror in your language, and every 20 seconds he's repeating the same stuff. I'd turn sound off. Simlish just blends in to the "background noise"
