Why don't my sims look at each other when they interact?

I relate to my sims that way. I've decided they all have aspergers lmao a whoooole world of people who are as super awkward in social situations as I am.
Its worse when they have their backs to each other and ones neck and head warp backward like a demonic owl.

Mine can stand back to back and kind of look over their shoulders at each other. They sometimes dance like that.

I mean in a normal, natural, way - not like a glitch, etc.

lol Yes! That's what they do. One stands off to the side and a little behind and the one in front keeps looking over his shoulder. I discovered today if I tell the sims to hug (assuming they're friendly enough to do so) first then they stay facing one another. Same with the dancing.

When another one has joined the conversation, they usually tend to look at them instead of each other.
Sim 1 says something to Sim 2 while looking at Sim 3.... Always bothers me as well :lol:

I hear you, OP. I have the same issue. Taking pictures in TS4 is an exercise in frustration. Not only do Sims face away from each other, they also go out of their way to stand the equivalent of ten feet away from each other to do it.

I'll have Sims stand close together to have an intimate, private conversation. Invariably, one of them breaks off and walks a few paces away in order to continue the conversation. Did the other Sim have halitosis or what?

Grrrr....

If I'm looking to take pictures, I always position them first before the interaction.
