That's EA for you, they don't care how much content you want - a little content expansion pack will still get them money. Was bit gutted with Get Famous in my opinion, was hoping for some sort of modelling career and more in dept singing career such as recording tracks & music videos, touring the world, releasing singles! Don't really have high hopes for the future sims series as in my opinion, not a single game beats the detail of The Sims 2
I would have loved modeling! Don't get me wrong I think that the acting career is well done from what I've seen on YT but I wish that there could've been directing or modeling."sennawales;c-16840096" wrote:
Just like other careers like being a chef, it's really boring to watch your sim just stand around and have that as an "active" job. What makes an active job good is the moving around and doing big physical stuff. Pointing and yelling at sims, clicking on a stove or washing machine is not gameplay.
They could do so much more with directing. Coordinating fight scenes, love scenes, writing out scenes, budgeting, firing and hiring actors and actresses, going to award ceremonies, filming, etc. Pointing and yelling at Sims is gameplay. Anything that's done in game, is gameplay. It may be boring (like Laundry Day) but it's still gameplay and more is better than less. And if push comes to shove it doesn't even have to be an active career."mistwolf7;c-16840689" wrote:

plot twist: they pull a my first pets stuff and make it only available in a stuff pack
I hadn't thought of that before, but you're probably right. Wouldn't be surprised in January to see a new SP, or maybe even a GP, with another world, a director career, and maybe even an actual singer career.
Whose going to make those packs seeing Kate said they leave for Holiday after the next Guru's Monthly in Early December (December 4th) and don't come back until January 8th (for January's Monthly I believe. No guru's means no January packs unless they have one almost ready before they leave after December 4th.
I guessed they'd have something in mid to late February probably.- SennaWales7 years agoRising Ace

What you're describing is closer to how it is with owning a restaurant, which is one of the weaker features in the series, being too micromanagey. Also, how would you incorporate skill or performance into this? If you really want to cast a particular sim, and the game tells you it's wrong, is the game right, or should you be able to do what you want? It's all good as a concept, but it's displaying it that's the tricky part. - and technically, since you can build a stage and a set on your own lots, you could play with your sim as a director, use your other sims as actors and create a short movie if you really wanted to.
- fruitsbasket1007 years agoSeasoned AceI was thinking the same thing! Being a person who loves to write, I would be thrilled if I got to be the director instead of the actor. And as @liliaeth said, we can already build our own sets so why not take that extra step and let us be the director? I had a similar problem with Dine Out. I wanted not only to own my own restaurant, but to work there as a chef or waiter as well. Why do they keep limiting our options?
- I Agree with you. But why are there set stuff that you can buy like the green screen and movie cameras, you can also write screenplays, is there anything you can do with that stuff?
I think the problem is that in the end being a director would be pretty boring."dizzylover;c-16842191" wrote:

well as I said, you can build your own sets, so technically you could make a movie in the sims, using your sims as the actors, which you could then post on youtube or elsewhere."fruitsbasket101;c-16841959" wrote:

Directors are not usually the writer - the screen writer is a different job and actually something you can do in a game under the writer career when you sell a screenplay. The director directs the direction the film goes in, what the actor does, your actor needs to talk with the director and only after they are fully prepared - they do just specific things and for a career would be pretty hum drum boring as they just sit in a chair answering questions or tossing you out for not being ready or doing all you are supposed to do with in a certain amount of time. It is pretty much a pre-scripted job that really would not play out well for a hands on job if you ask me - as it is very limited.- ck2137 years agoLegendWhat would be cool, if Film making is a rabbit hole career track in University, is that all the levels in the career track is represented by all workers in the Del Sol Valley movie studio. And when you are not playing your sim, you will see them working at the studio lot in their appropriate level.
