Why Stuff Packs are the Biggest Rip Off Ever

The only stuff pack I thought didn't cheat us was Vintage Glamour which gave us the butler even though we didn't get a bunch of stuff. The butler option I love and makes up for the lack of other content. Other than that all the stuff, game and expansion packs don't have that something extra that makes me say yay. I never played with mods or CC until Sims 4 before then I was always content with what I had for my sims and the packs I would buy for them. Sims 3 gave us a lot of bang for our buck. It's sad when a fan-made stuff pack gives you more stuff that looks nicer. EA is supposed to be the professionals. Everything that has been added in needs some kind of improvement except for the butler. Vampires need improvement. Mermaids and Aliens need a lot of improvement more so than any of the other occults. The fame mod I had before getting the official Get famous release was much better. Spellcasters need a little tweaking and are almost there and I love them and I love Vampires. If I knew how to code I would. The professions should be giving us something better for exceptional gameplay. They should be bringing their A-game instead of resting on their laurels.

Expansion Packs are $40 US.

Are you trying to say you don’t feel like we actually get half the amount of stuff of a Game Pack in the Stuff Packs thus making $10 US too expensive or are you upset because we have more SPs compared to the other types of packs or what exactly?

USD are worth more than Canadian. I am just saying Stuff packs cost half the amount of Game Packs, but we really don't get half the amount of stuff for it. You get a third the amount of B&B and CAS items in a stuff pack than in a Game Pack, and often there really isn't much added gamepley with an SP, usually they just add a few new items that enable you to do new leisure activities or a new venue type.

It would be nice if they stopped making Stuff Packs & just make lots of Gamepacks & Expansion Packs only from now on.

Tiny Living added new animations and build features. They are a lot of work and not listed like objects and cas items. I am not sure if all stuff packs introduce new object animations or not. I guess, I am saying a new chair in the game requires no new animations. So a new object like Murphy beds cost a lot of man hours to make. I was surprised to see this for $10 plus other objects and the new building features on top of it. Now that I think about it ... Tiny Living must have taken a huge amount of time and effort to make. I think I got my money's worth.

A lot of people don’t like CC so they rely exclusively on official packs to expand their BB and CAS catalogs. Lately each stuff pack has been adding something extra cool like the photography career or the tiny lot challenge. I don’t think $10 is very expensive; sure has more replay value than a drink out ??‍♀️

Stuff packs are $12.99 in Canada which is less than the minimum wage in some provinces and territories. It takes thousands of hours to make a stuff pack, so no, I don't think they are overpriced.

Also, some items take longer to make than others so it is illogical to just count the number of items in a pack without considering whether they are just re-meshed items or new items with new gameplay. Even then, not all re-meshed items take the same time to make.

Furthermore, a percentage of the price is to pay for costs not associated with making the items. Someone needs to pay for EA's accountants, lawyers, marketing staff, web developers, IT staff, rent, insurance, etc.

I kinda like the stuff packs. They are a bit overpriced perhaps but I would not go as far as calling them a complete rip off. Some packs actually do offer something interesting to gameplay. I enjoy the challenge to build micro homes, laundry adds a some challenge with the chores that come with laundry. The possibility to go bowling or hire a butler are also welcome in my game.

The older ones don't always have a lot of new gameplay (especially the first one with only a buffet table) but the later ones offer enough gameplay for the size of the pack. I prefer to buy them on sale (I wish they were on sale more frequently). Tiny living is one of the few exceptions where I decided to pay full price.

In certain situations for me it can be an ripoff especially when the items are recolors which in past versions the customer could alter the colors but now we can't and it falls in the same catergory with paid neighorhoods which one could have created worlds and now you must them under the guise of an EP or GP. So certain features that was available in the past for free are now paid features and you still do not have full function feature when you pay. As far as taking thousands of hours one can only speculate as we just do not know unless you work in their studios and an recolor as far as I know should not take as much time as they just change the attribute for the item the groundwork is already done and should not cost any more than the orginal item.

For example... I rarely would pay double the price for 24 rolls of toilet paper over a 12 pack. It's about 12$ here for the 12 pack but only 18$ for the 24 pack, not 24$

Also stuff packs go on sale quite a bit in Canada. Not as much as other packs but I bought almost all of them at 50% off last year

Anyway, it is pretty standard that you don't get directly proportional prices. If you buy a bigpack of pasta, you pay less per kg / pound than if you buy a small pack. I don't feel the fact that you don't get some calculated price for ("Cent x number of items minus a world") precisely calculated. Would you prefer micro-transactions or loot boxes?
