Will skill levels transfer over whenever sims are aged up? (help needed)

I would like to add that toddler skills can give you a head start in some child skills, even if they don't carry over directly. If your toddler reaches level 5 in movement, communication, thinking or imagination your child will get level two in the corresponding child skill (motor, social, mental and creativity)
