I own it now. ;)
Yay You are back! I have it as well and am really enjoying it.- SEREFRASSeasoned VeteranThank you @Bluegayle. I'm so glad to be back. Unfortunately I've learned that there's a censorship, so I have to be very careful what I say.
- mightyspritesimsSeasoned HotshotI was happy to see the bug fixes the other day.
I am going to wait on this pack until they fix:
- the bug where tenants can't pay rent/bills
- the bug where landlords can't collect rent
- the bug where lots break if you turn them from residential rental into something else.
Considering it's basically an EP about building and renting apartments, I need the basic features of the pack to work before I buy it. - SheriSimSeasoned HotshotI’m really glad the last few packs have not left children out, that they have added some new activities for them. I hope that they will add some new activities for toddlers too. Having something ( a toy ) that works on the same skill as the stacking blocks would be nice. A rocking horse, a little ride in car, a little wagon to pull, and I’d love to see them have a little doll they could carry around, feed and put to bed. Stuffed animals to play with. And, we didn’t even get a trike for them in growing together. Teens and elders could use a bit more things too. Skate boards for children and teens would be nice. I’d love to see children be able to toss a baseball back and forth with their parent, or friends.and a baseball and mitt clutter to put on a shelf. I’d like to see family volleyball make a return. Bingo for elders, a cane, etc. I thought the hearing aids were a nice touch, and the community center in Growing together was a nice start at multiple type lots. I’d love to see a sewing machine in the sims 4 with various patterns for all age levels. I would love to see a game pack for sewing that added a color wheel for fabrics and things we could use. Besides clothing for all ages they could add rag dolls and stuffed animals, making quilts to throw on a bed. They could add pillows to sit on and patterns for curtains. They could do so much with a sewing game pack. I’d also like to see a few other hobby packs like pottery and basket weaving. I heard that jewelry making may be coming our way, I like that idea. A few other things I’d like to see are a pool slide, a pool table, some new arcade games, hotels and casino stuff. Cars and a mechanic career, a gas station with a car wash would be a cool new lot too. They could add stuff packs and kits with new types of cars. I also want to see a lot trait for clothing like we had for food ( simple living ).
- ThriorTheSecondSeasoned NewcomerNope. I'm a gameplay focused person and the gameplay features hardly add anything that would interest me, especially after learning it's the same ol' loading screens galore (also, bugs and glitches but that's like the norm). The pack seems more geared towards builders (once again) and I have little interest in building. Sure, the CAS looks pretty neat and new traits are always welcome but... meh. Even features like "secrets" which sound interesting on paper, turned out to be artificial hogwash since they are generated randomly and thus don't feel meaningful. The world looks pretty but it's the same ol' set dressing for the most part (and is also small compared to some other expansions).
Taking all of that into consideration, what's left... I'd need to be really invested in being a landlord to justify buying this pack and, sorry, I'm not. So skipping this one for sure. It wouldn't even interest me if it was on sale cuz I don't feel it adds anything substantial. Like, I have my issues with HSY but ended up getting it during a sale because I feel like it does enhance teen lifestage which has been really lacking identity for me. This pack? I don't feel like it "mends any lacking elements in my gameplay" so to speak. - calmhereSeasoned NewcomerI have already bought the For Rent EP and I love it and have been playing it but I have found a lot of bugs in it and now am very frustrated. I have seen that many others also have found bugs in the the new pack. I sure hope that some fixes come out soon! I have some lots now that I can do little with now. I have a Sim that owns two residential rental properties but the properties management box shows that he doesn't have any. That is the worst of them. I have many problems but I am not sure that this is the place to list them. I am still new to this forum and am learning. Still, over all, I love the new EP! It will be even better when they work out the bugs. wink:
- mikamakimonNew SpectatorI had the opportunity to buy For Rent over the holidays, but decided to go for the bundle instead. I ended getting Horse Ranch with Dream Home Decorator and Paranormal.
- atreya33Seasoned AceThis is the first pack I was planning to buy around launch but changed my mind. There is little too little gameplay outside of the landlord / tenant, the world is game pack size with 9 lots across 2 neighbourhoods. The bug that breaks saves is scary.
I think the pack is fun and having multiple families on one lot is a game changer (if it doesn't break your game) but it's not worth 40€ in my opinion. - SimplyJenRising SpectatorI've made a rule for myself that I won't buy new packs unless I'm actively playing the game, have use for the content, or it goes on sale.
My problem is EA went back on their promise they made long ago about no bonus content for S4 packs. I'm someone who hates missing out on things even if it's very small and adds nothing valuable. I haven't bought For Rent because of the save file corruption bug. However, with the bonus content deadline approaching, I'm sooo conflicted. - SheriSimSeasoned HotshotI bought it, but not being able to change residential rental back to a residential lot or other type lot is game breaking for me. This is one pack I wish I had waited to buy. I have to play a practice save. One reason I don’t use CC or mods is because I don’t want to have to wait to play the game, but I have had the for rent pack for nearly a month now and I can’t play my actual main save because I don’t want it corrupted.
I certainly hope they fix not being able to change lot types after changing a lot to residential rental, and they fix the extremely high price of apartments. I have been playing as a tenant with a practice save, and that is going well, but I’d really like to begin playing with my permanent save sgain. Fingers crossed that they fix the big problems with this patch.
