So, I created a sim named John who always wears collared shirts and is this cute, average white dude who is a lawyer. He didn't have money for a computer, so I sent him to the library to use one. The game generated a librarian who is very beautiful and looks as if she came from the islands. Long story short, they were perfect for each other and were married. My plan was that her backstory be that she was tired of island life and wanted something different. But, then I saw that she wanted "the beach life," and I don't want to take that away from her. I can't see her living in Willow Creek and I can't see him living in Sulani, but they are literally perfect together. TL;DR: Should my sims live in Willow Creek or Sulani?

I like the original backstory you had for her. The beach life could be her old dream and maybe it's time to scrap it and start something new.

I love Sulani don't get me wrong, but I like the idea of them settling in Willow Creek! He'd be happy there and since you said she was wanting to see more of the world, its a good opportunity for her too! Maybe have her complete the Beach life aspiration there (you may have to travel back to Sulani occasionally) to get the laidback trait. Then maybe have her bring a bit of the Island culture to Willow Creek! Building sand castles at the park, tanning, and kava parties could be fun!

I think I would have them settle in Willow Creek for now, he’ll meet people who will become solid clients there, then maybe they can ultimately retire in Sulani. She worked at the WC library so I do think she was looking for a change of lifestyle. The aspiration works together with traits and other conditions to influence whims. If you care about the whims at all, I’ll be curious what you notice there. I’ve been paying closer attention to whims and autonomy to see what my sims really seem like they want to do. I was ignoring them before because it seemed like they all got the same repetitive whims, but there seems to be some improvement there.

I think she just wants to reconnect to her heritage a little, not return forever. Let them live in Willow Creek, but send them either on a weekend trip or full week's vacation (depending on your aging settings) to work on the aspiration for both of them.

It's up to what sounds good to you, but my preference between the worlds is Sulani hands down. I hardly ever seem to live in Willow Creek anymore.

If she loves the beach life and he loves her, he ought to try it out. Besides, he might find that he likes to loosen his tie now and then, and a pair of flip-flops on the weekend isn't so bad.

It's easier to get used to the beach life than it is the snow and cold of Willow Creek--she would probably hate it

I like when there's little things in game that give you options for story telling.

If I were you, I'd take them to Sulani to live there for some time, maybe the guy could catch a tan and learn some of the culture of his love interest. If snowy escape brings rental lots in the patch, you could move them back to settle in Willow Creek after some time abroad and vacation in Sulani regularly to keep both happy :)

Whatever you choose I think it would be nice if their home has a little reminder of both the worlds via clutter/decor

Why not have them live in Willow Creek but retire early and relocate to Sulani at some point?

She wanted to get away from island life, but once she actually got away, she got homesick.
