- Nindigo79Seasoned NoviceAlso, dead Sims can be revived, don't forget. Both with Ambrosia and by an accomplished spellcaster who knows Dedeadify. It's really not that disastrous or difficult to mend.

Wow I never actually had a Sim die accidentally from a emotion death before, usually I need to go through a lot of effort to get them to the point of death and even then they just don't feel like it. I actually don't think my sims even get hysterical that often, maybe it's the traits I'm giving them?
For sure that plays a role too. A hot-headed sim more easily dies an angry death, for example. I also wonder whether there is a greater risk of some of these emotional deaths if you have more packs installed > more factors that add to the sims' mood. That is a theory I have, at least. And of course, like others write in this thread, affluent sims with many objects more easily become happy to the very to the hysterical.- JanuaryGarnet08New SpectatorI have never had an accidental emotional death in my game since I started playing in 2015...have to say, I’m a little jealous.
- Fluteline24New SpectatorI usually send my sims to a mirror to calm themselves down, or remove a bunch of the happy buffs with MCCC. Honestly, it's not that hard to avoid the emotional deaths.
- Reasons why one of my oldest mods is one to prevent emotional deaths. I've always hated them.

I had one of my sims die of laughter after he had just finished celebrating Winterfest with his husband and kids. He had a bunch of happy moodlets because of it and I think his alien toddler must have told him a joke. I tried calming him down in the mirror, but it was too late and he ended up dying in the bathroom.
Now, I disable emotional deaths with MCCC. I appreciate the fact that they're there for people who want them, but I hate how easy they are to achieve, especially the playful one. If you take good care of your sims and they have nice houses, they're just one joke or bubble bath away from dying. I don't think they should get rid of them as there are people who still like them, but I wish sims didn't constantly have a bunch of happy moodlets that make it easier to become hysterical.
Thing is many of my Sims are well-to-do, living the high life as you suggest, yet it took years (I've played this game since release) for me to experience an emotional death, as I explained in an earlier post on this thread. What I think EA should look into (if they have a mind to tweak it at all) is to NOT take it away, but possibly to do something about that stacking system where a nicely decorated room can blow away the black cloud of sadness all by itself, or other positive atmospheres. I think the idea was a good one, on the whole, but something went awry when the positive emotions stack up the way they do and lead to a death. All people who get happy, don't just continue to have that mood escalate at an alarming rate. Sometimes a good laugh is enough to diffuse it. Sadly, the system is flawed. I'm one who rails against the tameness of this game, starting with Sims3. So, it took a preposterous set of events for me to finally turn off emotional deaths in my game, until such time the game ceases to target my most favorite Sims. - Nindigo79Seasoned Novice

I've been trying to kill an elder without just deleting her. She's Nina Caliente's mother. I keep sending her on jogs, she gets a few steps from the house, turns around and goes and lies down somewhere. lol! The reason is I want her to stay on the genealogy diagram. Not a blank.
But yeah, the death by emotion thing is kinda dumb.
Make her woohoo continuously. Should make her drop eventually. - Admiral8QNew Spectator
