Well, as long as it was a silly kind of thing, I wouldn't mind. I don't have TSM, but from what I have gathered over time reading the forums here, it sounds like it would be kind of fun.
In Simcity society, they had that silly religion that had some kind of....I can't remember what, but I remember thinking at the time, it would have worked in ts3 too, and I couldn't see how anyone would have been offended.
If they made it open ended enough so that Simmers could make it into whatever they wanted, it might be fun. Don't use the word "church" call it the "The Place" or some other nondescript term for it. I'm sure the Maxis people could come up with something really funny.
I know my good friend who still plays ts2 uses the standing stones as a Pagan worship place for her sims. She has the bonfire from uni there and that works for her, for her stories, lol.
What could be the harm with something like that?
