Would you like a modern Jacoban and Peteran religion (TSM) for The Sims 4?

Hi everyone. :)
I've been thinking about religons for the sims 4, something that is not offensive for all the sensitive people and even better if it's a facultative option for the game (For example, religions can be active only if there is a church in the town).
I think that a modern version of the sims medieval religions would be amazing for ceremonies (weddings and funerals) and maybe sims can even be priest and make this a job a la ambitions. :-)
So, what do you think about that?
(ps. i'm sorry if i made mistakes with grammar, i'm not that good at english! )

  • I LOVE this idea  . But for all the people who will hate on it, don't put it in the base game!! Put it in an expansion pack so you could give them the option to buy it or not. Then in the real game, you chose what religion you want in your world or have multiple to all religions in your town. There...solution to everyone's problems.
  • I enjoyed the Sims having spirituality as an option in Sims Medieval. Some quests required the religions, but quests don't go over well in a sandbox game. As long as the spirituality was optional, it would be awesome because we see they can do spirituality in a sims game.

To me, it doesn't matter though because my sims will have spirituality even if it's not programmed into the game. Since they have books, I can have my sims study spiritual texts. They might even be able to write them and maybe they can make a speech also, which means they could instruct and inspire followers just as well. Hopefully sims will even be able to meditate

It would be quite interesting to have religion in this game, but some people are really touchy when it comes to this subject and might react negatively towards it. EA probably didn't include Santa Claus in TS3, because it interfers with some people beliefs (not everyone celebrates Christmas).
No offence, just pointing this out. :?

Yeah, but they still included ghosts when not everyone belives in after-life  .

If EA keep with this, there will be the day that the game is so bland because of political-correct that it will be just another Dollhouse game and beign rated E for everyone.

exactly, they have put many controversial things in the game already so a few more wouldn't hurt, if people want to get offended over a game then i suggest they step away from the computer lol
  • No. I think if they get offended by a game then they simply should not support it. There are games in existence that are offensive to many stable individuals so those games don't have a massive audience.

It does remain as "okay" to be offended as it is to be comfortable. It all depends what you do with that feeling, doesn't it?

Thesims1 had MANY "potentially controversial" elements such as the cake-dancers for example, but still it got to be the best-selled PC game in history, beign folowed by TS2 wich also got that achivement (Sold more than TS1) and had no less content of that type.....but you know what?

THESIMS, everything is optional, is a game that if made right alow you to shape the world the way you want. Just because some people dont like that content, doesnt mean it should not be in game because there are people who like it, if you can get rid of it, if you can chose not put it in game, why even bother?
  • Yeah, I agree. As long as content is optional, I'm happy! I do consider spirituality and religion to be quite different things, and I just really want spirituality in my sims game. It doesn't need to be religion and therefore, shouldn't be controversial.

In Sims Medieval it didn't do much for a sim to pray, but it looked pretty and I liked it. I would love to see it return in Sims 4, as I already intend to have one of my medieval Peteran priestesses to be an important figure in the back story of my Sims 4 simmies. 8)

Really think people need to get a grip when it comes to religion, why shouldn't it be included if thats what people want? There are loads of religious people and it is their right to hold those beliefs. If you don't want religion in your game then don't add/build a church, mosque, temple etc. I am not religious myself but don't see the problem in including it for those who are.

I think having Peteran and Jacboan religions would be the only acceptable way to have religions in The Sims. Maybe it would be a good idea to include a parody of the Paganism religion to incorporate Wiccans, Pastafarians, Llamatarians, Bovinity, or maybe base a religion upon the Reboot cartoon series that involves The User, and of course, the mandatory Atheist group. It might also be interesting that we get Unitologists, too, because that is a religion in Dead Space, which is EA owned. You cannot have actual existing religions in the game, because that would be a sensitive subject. Everyone starts off as Atheist and the only way to join any religion is to ask to be converted or have the priest of that religion convert people. Computer AI should not be allowed to do auto-conversions, only actually user interactions.

People who do not want religion in the game, period, should just not buy the game pack for religions.
