Would you want hotels?

Omg that would be so awesome! I can see it being a big possibility for interactive careers and to use. Plus with there being apartments, a hotel pack or mod or whatever doesn't seem too farfetched of an idea.

I enjoy camping more than the hotel experience, so I'm sort of on the fence with this one. I think I'd only want hotels if, and only if, they came with more vacation-like content and even then, also only if the spa-day stuff worked full-service on hotel lots because I don't see the point of staying in a hotel unless it has all the bells and whistles (IRL bias here).

I didn't think the hotel-like lots in vacation worlds were all that cool in either TS2 or TS3, so for TS4 I would prefer they didn't do it all unless they were going to do it much better than they have in the past.

Selvadorada uses the same rental lot type as Granite Falls, plus some people (like myself) don't own JA.

I hope we get a vacation expansion pack that includes hospitality as an active career (kinda like restaurants), but also the ability to simply be guests at a hotel during a vacation (if we choose to do so). I'd like to at least see tropical themed and mountain themed vacation spots. Kinda like in Sims 2: Bon Voyage.

Yeah, I do play some lots as pretend hotels. Usually it's a bar-type lot, or a restaurant, with bedrooms. You can't lock the doors anymore, tho, so there's always the potential of someone trying to barge in and watch TV, haha. I do have one residential lot that I play like a pretend BnB using Clubs with the interactions. But of course you're right about all the features being missing.

If they are going to do this, which I feel there is a good chance, they'd really be doing it justice if the option to own it was there, along with a career. If they added some specialty items along with this, such as a tennis court, or a driving range/putting green, mini bars, pet friendly rooms, staffed spa items, and a kick butt scenic world, it would push it into Expansion Pack territory. If it was a beach world, they could do snorkeling, or a snowy world, cross country skiing might be similar enough to jogging to work, I dunno. However, if they do a beach world without swimming in the ocean, I feel there will be an uprising... :p

Yes that would be cool! Could really make for some interesting story lines!

To be honest, it doesn't interest me. The rental lots aren't my favorite concept, either.
