Your Personal Sims Highlights 2021

Cottage living hands down for DLC. One of my favorite packs to date. So well done and very enjoyable.

Free content is probably the gardening/cooking update for kids and preferences.

Of the paid DLC, Cottage Living is definitely my highlight, a very good pack with many great features, but Paranormal is a close second for being such an entertaining and unusually big stuff pack. If only the career wasn't so buggy... I don't own Dream Home Decorator or any of the kits.

Free content is always welcome, but my personal favourites were the Spa Day update, the preferences system, new hair colours, new swatches for build objects, and cooking and gardening for children. Regarding the latter, I have to positively highlight that children are finally no longer being ignored in packs either, they can care for animals and learn to cross-stitch in Cottage Living, interact with ghosts and become mediums in Paranormal, do yoga and meditation in Spa Day since the update. This is a development that already started in last year's packs, with children being able to make candles and participate in winter sports (even though they can't build the corresponding skills), and it's nice to see that it was continued and improved upon this year.

As for neighbourhood stories, I'll have to play a little more to find out whether or not I like it. The only free additions I didn't care about were scenarios and Sims sessions (I even had to look up the latter because I forgot what it was), but I don't mind their existence either.

- spa update, particularly the new aspirations
- bunk beds
- new hair colours

The three packs we've got, were my highlights in this sims year, especially cottage living, which was the best what a decade challenge player could get among with the overhaul of the lot traits.

I'm gonna say SD refresh and story progression.

I like everything on your list, but if I had to pick a few highlights from your list, hmm:

Cottage Living: I love my little chickens and the new recipes and Simple Living lot trait. :heart:
Throwback Fit: This kit has my identical elementary school gym shorts and my favourite summer hat I wore as a kid. And I love the running shoes. Love this kit so much :love:
Bunk Beds: So happy we finally got bunk beds! I love how they made one with a little desk underneath too. :smiley:
Preferences System: This was amazing. Makes my Sims more interesting and I like how they build fun when doing something they love.
Food delivery services: I really wanted this. I was so happy. I love ordering food.
Story Progression: I find this so much fun. My phone has been mostly silenced up to now. I'm really enjoying giving advice to Sims in my social circle and impacting their lives without having to rotate to their house.

Story Progression maybe. It's so new that I'm not sure how it will affect my game overall yet. If it's good, it could be very very good.

I think this thread is a good showcase of how wonderful diverse the Sims Community is. While there are certainly some things that are mentioned a lot, I still feel that a broad variety of favorite features is highlighted.

I've bought most of the new content this year and I am very pleased.

Cottage Living is a huge standout for me. It has so much content, I'm still fiddling with it. I love the lot challenges.

Spa Day Update - great plumbob, was that huge. It made an already good pack phenomenal.

Bunk beds. Oh, how I love them. I especially love that you can have a bed above and a desk or whatever underneath.

Special shout out for Painted Fingernails. I've been longing for the ability to paint my sim's nails - and now I can.

I'd also like to mention the Scenarios. I had huge fun playing the Millionaire Scenario. I hope we get more, and I hope they add a few more levels.
