There is a segment of the forum population that will never stop complaining about TS4, before or after TS5, and many of them by their own admissions don’t even actually play TS4. They either never played it or stopped ages ago but continue to gripe about it because it’s apparently their hobby and because people who do like TS4 need to be constantly and persistently reminded it’s inadequate and that TS2 & TS3 are practically perfect in every way.
Honestly in every online community for a game I've ever joined, about 1/3 of the posters just complain about how horrible it is, and about half of those no longer or never played to begin with, but are just unable to move on to something else.
It's basically a universal truth of the internet.
Packs I'd like to see, noting that I expect none of these to ever happen.
- blank map packs. Basically 'more city', 'more strangerville', 'more magic hood / area outside magic portal'. Take any EP and/or base game, and put out a blank map that 'expands' the theme of an existing map. I'd consider this worth a $10 pack.
- A fairy EP. Give a single occult a full blown massive EP all to itself, and everything wonderful for that occult. Let fans of occults go nuts with how well done one of them can be when given that level of love.
- Addon pack for Plantsims so it can be a permanent state of a new type of sim. All my excitement to find out about platsims died the moment I learned it was a limited duration buff.
- The Moroccan kit is making me want to see a kit for Mexican style and/or Latin American architecture and fashion, plau radio stations for Salsa, Mariachi, and Tejano. I'd go equally nuts to get one for West-African fashions, but would have less faith in it being done well.
- A Caribbean-like pack / kit to expand on the Island Living but themed more around blends of Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic in architecture, CAS items, and a map. And of course adding reggae to the music stations. This one would make me go nuts to see. I also have 0 expectation of ever seeing it.
- A Teens pack. I'm not big on playing anything younger than a young adult, but this age seems.. lacking... Give them a $15 pack with a lot of 'things' that drive adults nuts... talk in weird ways, annoying music, a constant eye-rolling animation, and a couple moodlets that make them do the exact opposite of whatever you tell them to. ;) And yet make them adorably endearing anyway, and constantly doing 'the wrong thing' to try and seek approval or get mentorship...
