Adopt a pet not working

Question

My family I made has a cat, so it worked in create a sim. But from their island when I choose adopt from the phone menu, nothing else pops up.

I removed all mods. Still doesn’t work.

I’ve tried other options from other posts but nothing.

any tips?

Yes however I have power from solar panels.

also side note, birthdays are failing… Ive uninstalled and reinstalled my game.

when I make a cake and blow out the candles, sims don’t age up, and they are always sad about missing their birthday

Birthday: Is that for all age groups ?
