What should I do if the game isn't working properly? When I try to load a family, their house doesn't show up, they just tell me to build a new one. Then, when I build another one, I can't load the family.

Have you downloaded the game and any packs through the EA app? Have you downloaded the packs through an official source?
I'm having a similar issue, I'm unable to access any households, even without mods or CC. I'm getting to the point that I don't want to play Sims4 at all. They can't get it together with there updates!!!
yes i downloaded from EA app. It was fine before the update, but after the update something broke

No current mod is known to cause this. Try a re-installation through the EA App/Steam (whichever you use) and use only mods that are updated or cleared as compatible for the patch in Broken/Updated Mods & CC.
