CC lot/household download from gallery: how does it work

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find an answer to my question: if someone downloads a household or lot from the gallery that contains CC, does the CC get installed on their computer? Or, if not, what happens to the CC items? Do they just disappear or are they replaced by other items?

    CC does not transfer from the gallery. I've never downloaded a house so I don't know if it's replaced. With a Sim, they can be bald or in a towel depending on the CC that was used.

    Yes, that's what I figured, but I wasn't sure. That's a shame. I enjoy creating things and then sharing it, but I find the game's own content a bit limiting when it comes to decorating and outfits and such.
