Celebrity sim glitch children

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? EP08: 1.assests.ml-ep08.214
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Tiny Living, Spooky Stuff, Season, Realm of Magic, Growing Together, Parenthood, Movie Hangout, Luxury Party, Jungle Adventure, Home Chef Hustle, High School Years, Greenhouse Haven, Get Together, Get to Work, Get Famous, Fashion Street, Dream Home Decorator, Discovery University, Dine Out, Desert Luxe, City Living, Cottage Living, Cats and Dogs, Book Nook, Backyard Stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Sim in household with 2-star celebrity status. Have kid-aged children.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim with the celebrity status stops all queued tasks and just stands still. The children sim have the little thought bubble thinking of the celebrity sim when they are in the same area. Then they stop all queued tasks. You can try queuing other tasks for them to do and they'll start, and then they are automatically cancelled. This includes going to school (or work for the adult celebrity sim).
What do you expect to see? I expect my sims to continue doing what they were supposed to, and not just stop
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. This issue started after the most recent update. I also bought the spooky stuff pack. Those are the only changes I've made, other than updating the few mods that I do have following the update.

I have another adult sim in the household and this does not occur with/to them.

    Hi @crinrict, 

    Thanks for your reply. So I didn't do that yet, but I did try removing all my CC to see if something was broken. I found that the pair of shorts my sim was wearing appears to have been causing the problem, but I honestly have never had a glitch like this before, and it seems odd that some shorts would have caused something like this to happen. Do you have any idea? I did reach out to the cc creator so I'll see what they say too.

    Hi @swheatley5 

    Try the following

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

    @swheatley5 That really is very weird and makes me wonder if something else hadn't been merged in with that file. Regardless, I'm glad you solved it!
