Copperdale Worldview Bug
Product: The Sims 4
Platform: Windows 10
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time
What is your current game version number? 1.90.358.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All except the Werewolves GP, and the Bust the Dust, Carnaval Streetwear, Courtyard Oasis, Fashion Street, Incheon Arrivals, Industrial Loft, Modern Menswear, and Moonlight Chic Kits.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By simply clicking on Copperdale in the World Overview menu.
What do you expect to see? The HSY EP world Copperdale.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes, but all CC and Mods were disabled after finding the bug to test if they were the problem. The issue is still there, with or without CC and Mods.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? The issue only appeared after installing the Highschool Years Expansion Pack.
For some reason, I am unable to view the new HSY EP world Copperdale.
I can see the world icon in the World Overview menu and am able to click and choose it, but instead of the world loading in, the screen stays white.
I am then unable to click the World Overview icon in the top left corner, and can only leave this screen by exiting to the main menu or closing the game entirely. I can access all the CAS and Build and Buy items and have run into no issues with any of them, but accessing Copperdale doesn't work.
I attempted to open the world both with and without a household, and the problem was still there, and attempting to open Copperdale with a household meant I was unable to choose a lot to place my household onto before leaving for the main menu. This meant I was unable to save the household before leaving and lost all progress.
I have already tried searching for all available updates, repaired the game in the Origin menu, and disabled all CC and Mods to test for the problem, and the issue still persists.
I haven't found anybody else experiencing the same problem and would appreciate any help I can get.
HI @theyikeee
Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.
Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.
- Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
- Tray Folder
- Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
- Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
- Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
- ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
- Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)
The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
