Are you sure it's a quantity issue and not just whatever you recently happened to add? Try removing all mods/CC then adding only recent additions. It's much more common that it's specific items causing crashes.

So i removed them all and slowly added them back. I updated any custom content the cc creators may have updated and opened the game after every add. Once i got to a certain amount of cc the game became a little lagged and crashed.

MargonRo90 Remove that last batch and add a different last batch to make sure the issue is actually your quantity, not what was in that last batch.
But with that many files, you likely have other problems there, like duplicate files and outdated files. Remove anything that looks like it was a merged file of CC that wasn't a specific creator set. Then look for duplicates. I advise doing this by organizing by creator -- you're most likely to notice duplicates that way.
