game failed to load

I just updated the game and now it's saying "The game failed to load. Error Code: 134:ef7a88f2:b4565d86. It is recommended that you relaunch the game."

However, it doesn't kick me out of the game because I can just press Okay and it lets me load up my household except one of my sims just disappears from the game entirely. I've tried with multiple different households and the same sim is removed from the game.


I've relaunched, I've tried 50/50 method and nothing helped, I removed all my mods and nothing helped. I really don't know what to do at this point.

    I tried just about every suggestion here, and for each of your individual cases I hope you find whatever works to fix your game--as for me, I removed my mods, clean booted my computer or whatever, added them as exceptions, uninstalled and reinstalled my game and just as I was about to give up hope, I remembered to recover a previous save. Luckily I had one just 10 minutes earlier, I tried that, and it was perfectly fixed.

    Time to move my mods back in...

    I launched my game up this afternoon, and got an error message for the Sims 4 game. Saying the same error, but with a different code. "The game failed to load. Error Code: 140:645fba83:995e97f8. It is recommended that you relaunch the game."

    I have mods installed, reinstalled them and did a complete reinstall for the Sims 4, and nothing for it. I seem to bypass the message and play my games without any other problem.

    EDIT: I've also noticed that Sims will cancel out actions in gameplay if an object is blocking them. i.e toilet. They would idly stand there or wave saying they can't move because the object is blocking the sim somehow, and I would pull up build mode on, to replace the toilet's location in game so the sim can move in game. This is a constant problem. Another problem, exiting CAS and still getting the error code each time.
