Game Not Loading

I know that many a people have posted about this, but I'm going to as well. I have not played my sims game in about two months, and when I finally decide to play, the game just won't load. I updated the game, cleaned out my mods folder entirely, downloaded new mods and tried to play. I created my household, yet I cannot play. Every time I attempt to it just brings me back to the world select screen. 

I removed all my mods from the mods folder and started the game again, and it still did not work. I started a new game folder, started it without mods and it still did not work. I have deleted the cache file, repaired the game multiple times, but nothing has worked. 

I know people are saying that it's because of Mods but I have removed every single one of my mods and CC in an attempt to fix this and nothing has worked, so I would really appreciate any insight anyone has on this because I have spent a lot of time and money on this game and it absolutely sucks that I just can't play it no matter what I do.

    t0xic_sir3n_​ Please try this test:

    1. Rename the user folder (the one that has Mods, Saves, etc. inside it)
    2. Delete the file called localthumbcache
    3. Restart and test household loading in a new save (you should see no option to load an older one)

    If that works:

    1. Exit and copy the save files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. 
    2. Load your regular save, but test in a household you've never played before.
    3. Now test in your regular households.

    When, in that set-up, is loading blocked for you?

    Yes, I tried that as well. As I've said, I have been on this forum for hours trying the fixes and nothing has worked. I've deleted mods, removed my mods folders individually, deleted the localthumbcache package, repaired the game, uninstalled the game, and quite literally, nothing has worked.

    For more info, then

    1. is it a save that won't load or the whole game? 
    2. Do you get any error message when the failure happens?
    3. Are you on PC or Mac?

    1. I'm able to create a sim but after that, when I try to load any sim (one I created or already made sims like the Goths) it just takes me back into the neighborhood select screen. I've tried multiple times and with or without Mods/CC it won't load.
    2. No, it just endlessly goes into the neighborhood select screen. 
    3. I'm on a MacBook Air
