Having to redownload CC every time.... game won't open

Hi guys, 

please help me!! if I have any cc in my mods folder (other than UI cheats) my game won't open!!! It will say 'application not responding'. 

When I delete all my CC and redownload the same stuff (it hasn't been updated etc) it will work for a few times and then stop, and go back to 'application not responding'. I have tried deleting the entire mods folder, I have also completely deleted my sims 4 folder, deleting all my old saves. I have MINIMAL CC. I have only downloaded from Harluxe, Heyharrie, felixandre and charleypancakes. 

Please help me!!!!!

I can't seem to find anyone else experiencing this problem and I am not sure what I am doing wrong!

Also - I am on a Mac, I have lots of space on my computer too.
