Help

I haven't played sim4 since November 12, 2023. I know there have been updates and such, but I was new to mods whenever I started playing and I had Curse Forge installed, after I stopped being interested in sims I left it alone and haven't played it or updated since. I really want to get into it again but my game won't open after I try launching through the EA app, I reinstalled CurseForge again and it supposedly updated some of my mods. If there is a way, what can I do play my game again without having to get rid of my mods?

  • @M4GIC_MICHI A huge number of mods have been updated since November, but unfortunately, that doesn't mean all the ones that Curseforge controls were updated. Plus any you didn't install through the Curseforge app need to be updated manually.

You have a couple of options.

    1. You can use the 50-50 method to find what's stopping you from opening the game: 50-50 . Then find out if an update is available for that mod. If not, delete it. If so, delete the old version and add the new version. Either way, remember to keep deleting the file called localthumbcache when you're testing, deleting, and updating.

    2. You can start instead at the Broken/Updated mods lists. This gets complicated when there have been multiple patches, two of them with long lists. However, you could probably find most issues from the "Broken" and "Updated" lists in the current pinned post: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mods-CC-Issues/Broken-Obsolete-and-Updated-Sims-4-Mods-1-106-Apr-16-2024-Game/td-p/13649658 and the previous, very long "Updated" list in the previous one: 1.105 Broken/Updated Mods & CC thread
