How to have a lot of CC in Sims 4 game without crashing/lag!

I really want to get a lot of CC on my Sims 4 Game! I have only 7 CC items in my game at the moment because a while ago i downloaded like 1 GB and it made my game crash or lag badly! My specs are not top quality!

Can i still get CC without crashing or lagging?

Why does CC cause crashing and lagging?

    It's funny (not ha ha funny) when you find out a shirt or necklace makes your game crash or caused a bug in an area or feature that has nothing to do with the item you put in

    I've been thinking of updating my graphics card actually. I hear it helps tremendously, especially for filming

    I have tons of cc yet it only started to freeze during the 1000s and so on. (yes i do have that much)
