How to update mods?

I'm looking for a modding for dummies kind of tutorial that's going to help me update "Sell To Local Market (1.52)" by c821118. I tried following the tutorials but they don't make much sense to me, and some of them give me links to programs that haven't been updated since 2018. I'm not sure if they're still able to be used. I just want my sims to sell the plates of food that are stacking up in the neighborhood lol. If anyone has any tips or links to tutorials on how to update, that would be greatly appreciated. I've never modded before, so it's all new and confusing. Thank you :)

    Doesn't matter about some programs being old, because most never need updating as they don't rely on understanding game code, they just display or do something misc for you, like the XML Compare program in the tutorial.

    TDESCs help you understand how files are built and what each thing does. Zer0’s tutorials linked above have 3 different tutorials on how to use the TDESC, so make sure to read them to understand how TDESCs work.
