Update: fixed it! Unfortunately, for me the only thing that really worked, was to uninstall the Sims 4 and reinstall it through origin. My main issue was wanting to play with mods so I tested a new Sim family with no mods and was able to interact with my other Sims as well as get past world screens as prior it kept rerouting me back to that screen when trying to play. After reading other forums, someone suggested to go to game options screen capture, and figure out how to locate the folders. in this case I was looking at the wrong document, and that’s why my mods were not appearing but I have started playing again, and have had no issues. I know everyone’s might not be the same as mine, but please consider reinstalling Sims as I have found. That’s the only thing that has worked and I have been trying for days to find a solution and trying things that people have recommended to me.
* I will note do not make the mistake of copying mods from your prior folder to your new folder because this will not allow you to play as it is a copied version and not a “document” mod (there’s no script for a copy). I hope this makes sense because I’m playing on a Mac, so I hope it makes sense for PC users as well! Sadly, I lost all my families and my mods but as long as I can play, that’s what matters. Thanks for your help! Much appreciated x
