library

I restarted my game completely thinking everything would be as if I just bought it but I guess I deleted all the maxis creations awhile ago from my library and now I have a empty library. is there anyway to get those original lots and households back in "my library" without having a whole new account?

  • The maxis created lots should be on the gallery and you can redownload them - a lot of people upload them 🙂

  • @missbunny69 Do you have a filed called TrayDeletedItems in your documents folder ? If so, delete that file. All Maxis tray items should then be back.

If what you are looking for is the maxis lots and sims that came with the game, you can get them pretty easily if you are on a PC or Mac.  All you have to do is rename your "The Sims 4" folder to something else.  Then start a new game.  The game will make a new "The Sims 4" folder and it will have all the lots and sims that ship with the game or have been added by later packs that you have purchased.  So, after you make your sim and place them on a lot, just save the game.  Then just to make sure that what you are looking for is there, open the Library and take a look at what's there.  All those original lots and sims should be there and if they are just quit the game.  Then all you have do is copy or move the contents of the "Tray" folder from the new "The Sims 4" folder into your original "The Sims 4" folder.  If it asks you if you want to overwrite any files, say no.   Then either rename or delete the new "The Sims 4" folder and rename your original one back to "The Sims 4" and you should be good to go.  Just start the game and look at your Library at the Main Menu to check that everything is ok.  If you are worried about messing something up in your game, then make a copy of your original "Tray" folder and put it somewhere safe just so you have a backup before you do any file moves or copying.

    Hope this helps.
