Lots and inventories disappearing/deleting after 10/31/23 update

Hi @natalier98. Let's see if a folder refresh solves some of these issues.

First, like Bluebellflora suggested, make sure you don't have iCloud or OneDrive or anything similar syncing your Electronic Arts or The Sims 4 folder.

Then let's back everything up and make a new folder:

• Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
• Launch Sims 4 and start a New Game. Redo your Options how you like them.
• Start a "New" game to see if in this state, things are as you expect them.

If you still have the problem, it's time for a Game Repair.

If you don't still have the problem, it's time to check out your save again to see if the fresh folder has fixed it:

• Exit the game, copy just your most recent save file into the new Saves folder
• Start the game and use "Load" to open that save file. Check the issue with lots

Let us know how this goes! If it goes well for lots but not for inventories, you might want to go just a save or two back in restoring versions to see if you get inventories back.

UI Cheats has been updated so you'll need to grab the new version if you haven't already.

If your save still shows the same problems after you do the repair and create the new user folder, take a look at all your worlds to see if you spot any lots with an exclamation mark in a green or orange triangle.  What you've described matches some of the symptoms of a bug that's been around for a while and seems to hit people randomly out of the blue.  It can start well before you find it if you don't check on all worlds on a regular basis.  Basically, what happens is the lots show on the map but disappear when you load them, and the sims will be standing out front.  After that, you can't place another build on that lot or if you can, can't set a venue type for the lot.  You can't even move the sims to a new lot via the normal methods.  You can save the sims from those lots by going to CAS from Manage Households, but chances are they will be corrupt and unusable.  This bug is especially nasty as it corrupts the save.  Any lots that were affected are simply gone for good and any sims on those lots will usually be corrupt.  You can salvage most of the builds and sims that were not on lots with the problem.  But the end result is once you have it, your save is toast and you'll be starting over in a new save.  You can read more about it in this post:

Take a few minutes to read through the post and compare it to what you have happening in your save.  Hopefully it is not what you have going on.

Thank you so much for the help! I read the linked article about this issue on Mac and I think the issue I was having had to do with not enough storage on my internal hard drive. Once I cleared out my storage I reloaded the save and everything was back to normal. I also updated UI cheats and my UI is back to normal.

Thank you so much for answering my question! I managed to fix the issue this time by clearing out some space on my hard drive. I'm assuming the game was having trouble because there wasn't actually enough space on my hard drive to run the game but it was somehow running anyways (and only barely). My save seems to be back to normal, however the glitch you described here is eerily similar to what was going on in my save, so I'm nervous that the bug actually did happen and it could happen again in that save at a different time. I saved some backups just in case so hopefully that doesn't happen. Would it be helpful at all to share my save data with someone to help solve this glitch for other players?

I'm glad you don't have that particular bug and got your save going again.  Since you've gotten your game back to normal now, you should be ok, as far as the exclamation point/triangle bug is concerned.  You don't need to send your save since you don't have the bug.  Enjoy your game!
