[MAC] [AA] Moths and Butterflies not showing

No, all graphic settings are on high and laptop mode is disabled. 

I'm playing on MacOS and am running into the same issue. Graphics settings are set to high and very high and laptop mode is disabled.

When removing mods/cc, how did you remove them ?

Hey I was having the same issue, I know you said yours isn't caused by mods but for anyone else with this issue I took out the file "Caiocc_Mod_SmartDevice.package" and now i can see the butterflies&moths :) I used the 50/50 method to figure out which file it was

To follow up on this, I had thought I was having this issue in my vanilla (no mods or CC) save, but whenever I loaded it today to play with the event, I was able to see butterflies!

For me after a lot of testing in my modded test save, it turned out to be a piece of BB CC: the plomma small cauldron. It's an item with custom fx, so I'm wondering if the custom fx was conflicting with things?

After I took it out and reloaded, I noticed that not only was I able to see butterflies and moths, but also the jellyfish and faerie sparkles.

Best way to ensure that you are actually trying mod free is a clean folder approach.

PossumBoyDanny​ Definitely a thing that custom VFX might do, and a reason why another creator with a custom VFX mod has to update theirs for most new worlds. Have you tried removing just the custom VFX mod? As I recall, it's a requirement for that cauldron mod? 

Yup, as soon as I removed that mod I could see everything again. I wasn't using it too often, so I left it out. I much rather see the butterflies, moths, jellyfish, etc.
