I've recently re-downloaded Sims 4 on my MacBook Pro using Origin. Ever since I started playing, all build mode items I try to place disappear as soon as I place them. Also, all build mode items won't delete when I use the hammer tool on them, except for the first thing I click to delete (then it stops working). If that wasn't annoying enough, the load screen is never-ending and I've had to Force Quit every time. What is weird is that the build mode issues weren't an issue when building a residential lot in one world but I'm currently building a Rental in Sulani and all issues have appeared. I did have Mods and CC installed; the issues are still present when I have removed them all from my files. I even ran a diagnostics via Origin but nothing has changed. I thought the issues might be with the rental lot I placed from the gallery, but it happens with other lots too. I have tried to fix it with a New Game, but again the issues are still there.
If anyone can help clarify the situation for me and provide advice on how to fix it, I would be really grateful!!!! Thanks in advance!!

@SkyhunterXoX A couple of questions. Does this occur with an empty Mods folder? (Especially the loading screen.) See Broken/Updated Mods for a starting point on things to delete or update.
For Sulani, there are some lots there that won't work as Residential Rental -- all the lots that extend into the water. Are you doing something on one of those lots?

Hiya, thanks for getting back to me so fast!
Yes, everything, including the loading screen, occurs even when my Mods (+ CC) folder is clear. I also only just downloaded the Mods so everything is the latest version.

I also never knew that about the Residential rentals! It's strange because the first time I put it down, everything worked fine (I could delete and place items) but then the loading screen wouldn't stop. I Forced Quit and when I went back into the game, that's when I started having Build Mode issues.

@SkyhunterXoX Might be worth doing a fresh folder (Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options. Add old content into the new folders after the game seems to be behaving), and even a Game Repair. Also, there's definitely most-recent-version mods out there that are not compatible with the current version of the game or with the new pack.
