I pre-ordered the Sims 4 - For Rent weeks ago. I experienced issues downloading the game on release day (kept getting an error message). Once the game was downloaded, the ability to create/buy/place residential rentals was not available. This feature is still not available a week later. Also, the new world is not available, the map is a blank white screen.
I removed my mods, cleared the cache, restarted the EA app, repaired the game, uninstalled the games, and re-installed them, and am still experiencing this issue.
I enjoy this game but the main game feature not working and the Sims team not addressing that many people do not have the full functionality of the game has been disappointing. I hope that this can be corrected ASAP.
@ceblue08 Please test in a clean folder: Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options. Now pick "New" and see if you have all the features. If you do, copy the contents of your old Saves folder, Tray, Screenshots and Videos back and test an earlier save. Don't move any content from the Mods folder back till after this.
@luthienrising I moved my Sims 4 folder to the desktop, and when I entered the game I restored my settings to default. I then saw the new world map and the residential rental function appeared. I exited the game and then removed the data from my saves, tray, and screenshots folders and copied and pasted them back in. I re-entered the game and none of my saves were available.
Also, I received a message about my video card not being found once I entered the game after moving it from the C drive to my desktop.
Do you know how I might be able to get this hotfix to work with my saves and mods?
This pack has been such a letdown so far.

@ceblue08 Were none of your saves showing at all in the menu? Make sure they aren't a folder deep inside the new Saves folder. And use that new folder, not the one you copied. You want only the save files copied over.
Hopefully that helps, and then we can figure out which mods are issues for you.
