Mod folder breaks every time I play

My mods always prevent my sims game from launching after an update, which is fine I just have to go through and find the broken one. But this time there hasn't been an update and just randomly when I tried to launch the game every single mod/cc stopped the game from launching and the only thing that fixes it is making a new mods folder and copy and pasting everything into it. I don't wanna do that every time though, because I have so many mods and it takes forever to copy and paste.

I fixed it! Because I play on a mac my mods folder was syncing with icloud and all that while I was playing and trying to load in which was stopping it from launching so I just turned off icloud syncing. Thank u so much

hellohooman1234 Alright, then add a few of your existing mods at a time, and reload the game once or twice to test, until you find the one that's breaking things.

Oh sorry, I don't really know. I just did what you asked and the mod folder didn't break again.

hellohooman1234 Okay, but that doesn't really answer my question. If you don't know, that's fine; we can approach this another way.

Please remove your Mods folder and let the game generate a(nother) new one. Download a fresh copy of one custom content item (BB or CAS, doesn't matter) and place only that item in the new Mods folder. Then see whether the Mods folder breaks again, and we can go from there.

I have a bunch of build buy and cas items, literally nothing works so it must be something with the mods folder because really basic files prevent it from opening. I think it wants me to redownload everything because I had to do that once but for only one thing.

hellohooman1234 Do you use any mods that change the Resource.cfg file? If so, that might be the issue. The mods' documentation should say something to this effect, but if not, you'll need to test the mods you have to see which one breaks the Mods folder.
