Solved

Mods haven't been showing up in game for weeks, please help!

Hello all! I hope this post doesn't get removed as I am desperate for help to fix this ongoing issue and Im at my wits at with this game!

It started about a month ago after an update to the game, I booted my game up like normal like i usually do everyday, i was excited to get into my gameplay, since I had just deleted all of my old mods after seeing more than a few that were broken and i had downloaded brand new CC to replace them, the whole process was very long and tedious since im sort of OCD about my mods folder.

The problem started when I opened my game after the whole process to see that in CAS, only my OLD cc was loading into the game. I thought maybe I had made an error, so i went back into my Mods folder to make sure I didn't. And i was right, all of my old CC was gone, but they remained in game.

Eventually, I un-installed and re-installed the game, which made my old CC disappear, but now I have a new problem.

My new CC refuses to show up in game. Of course, I immediately began to google for solutions to this problem, and I looked at many posts from reddit and other websites with simular issues. I tried every single thing that people suggested when they were having CC issues, but so far, every single attempt ive made to fix the problem has not been successful.

I've become desperate for help on how to fix this issue because its just become a thorn in my side. It's been like this for over a month now and even with updates, the issue still continues.

I really hope that someone can help me fix this issue, otherwise i plan on just abadoning the sims for awhile. fingers crossed!

thanks for reading.

Okay, let's try a fresh user folder now:

    1. Rename the user folder: Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4
    2. Restart the game to create a new one
    3. Exit
    4. Download one recently released new CC item and reload the game. Start a test save to see if that new item appears.

If that works, you can start copying old files into the new folder.

Please screenshot your User folder Electronic Arts > Documents > The Sims 4 with the full path showing in the address bar, and also please screenshot the inside of your Mods folder. These might help figure out your issue.

  • my mods folder is currently empty as i deleted all of them after my last attempt to fix the issue myself
