My game won’t load in because of the amount of cc and mods
Hey, I’m also having a problem with my game not loading. It’s not particularly crashing but when I go into my game it allows me to make a new sim, get them a household in a world, but when I try to play it, it takes me back to the worlds screen and then that said sim would disappear. I’ve pinpointed the problem and it quite literally is the amount of cc and mods I have. If I had over 200 my game would crash, but if I had some below it the game would work fine. My game has been able to handle about 4000 mods and cc before so I don’t know what could be causing this to happen now? I’ve even tried naming a backup folder the sims 4 from following these hard launch instructions I believe. I ended up accidentally deleting the actual one so I lost everything but I wasn’t too mad because I would rather start fresh anyways. So I renamed the back up to the regular The Sims 4 so everything was like getting the game for the first time. I added in new cc and mods and ended up at about 500 items and my game still crashed. It would tell me to relaunch it but when I do, the same thing happens. Please help!! I have a HP windows 10.
I’ve tried repairing the game (several times), uninstalling the game, restarting my computer, deleting mods and adding them back.
I’ve also noticed I have no cache folder? I didn’t delete it, it seems to have disappeared on its own after a couple of updates.
Hi @Ktrillion2 Just to note as well, putting mods back in will leave them broken if you don't download new versions - if those are available. You can have a look at the current Broken/Updated Mods list and the previous Broken/Updated Mods list (because many mods were updated for 1.103). The current list will soon be much longer, but reports are delayed at the moment while I revise the system to provide better support after the recent malicious mods issue.
Localthumbcache will be recreated when the game starts again, but do delete it every time you remove or replace a mod/CC file. Other cache will also recreate itself when needed.
