I noticed that ever since the last update, all my sims will try to light on every fireplace they have and warm up there. I find it funny since I don't even own seasons, so as far as I know this isn't caused because they're cold, but yeah...I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, the only mod I'm using now is WW, and I had it before the update and this never happened before.

They will switch on as soon as a Sim is in the room and off when they leave it. A fireplace gives your Sims an extra positive mood. Being near a fireplace can enhance their wellbeing even in summer (and even when you don't have seasons) You can also enhance the fireplace itself by installing the extra gadget ('automatic') Have fun playing. 😉

@Trismagistos I have upgraded fireplaces that auto light, but my sims sometimes get obsessed walking from room to room lighting them, even though the heating is on. It's super annoying. I hope there is a fix for this.

Yes, mine too. My fireplaces must be on auto, since it seems they're usually already lit, but the Sims are regularly going to warm themselves. I cannot pinpoint exactly when this started, but yes it was recently. So it may have been with the last patch, I couldn't say for sure. It's a touch annoying, because every time I'm about to send them to do something, they start walking off to the next room where the fire place is before I've had the chance to click on them, and I'm forever shouting "get back here!!!" at them, lol.

@Gednaa It is a long time since i let my sims use the thermostat. It is quite costly and it doesn't fit in the ecological gameplay I tend to use. But I do understand it can be annoying. I use the automatic lights so i can see if and when a Sim is in a specific room. Very handy when you play a household of 8 Sims, pets included. The only way to fix this automatic lighting of your fireplaces is to turn the automatic lighting off again. You will miss this extra positive mood but you will gain some peace of mind. 😊Have fun playing. 😉

@Trismagistos Agreed! it's not very Eco. I don't have the Eco pack and we can afford the bills. I've removed a few fireplaces and just kept the main lounge one, which is where they all seem to like to gather anyway. It is funny watching them walking round the house lighting each fireplace over and over. I had to just remove the fireplaces. In fact I got a smaller house to put on pinnacle point so that it would be warmer with one fireplace.

@PriestessBizarre It's been happening in my game for quite a long time. RL months. I have seasons but have weather switched off, as the dog was terrified of thunderstorms. I don't know why my sims would need all the fireplaces lit and heating on as they are ice-roof! lol. Sorry I can't figure out what they cause of this is, but it's been there for quite some time.

@PriestessBizarre Have you tried playing with autonomy switched off? then they'll just do what you tell them. Maybe that could be a way round the problem?

@Valadenthys Actually, it looks like a bug to me. Seasons is inactivated in my game, so there's no weather but I noticed my sim keeps going for lighting the fireplaces in Vlad's mansion all over. I didn't notice this until I tried this sim because usually I don't place a fireplace in my own played households.

I've had to use MC Tuner to forbid lighting fireplaces after an infuriating incident where my vampire (they're apparently even more obsessed than regular Sims?) lit the fireplace, caught herself on fire, extinguished herself, took a shower to wash off the soot, then flew down as a bat and immediately re-lit the fireplace and practically stood in it.
IT'S SUMMER WILL YOU STOP! I swear lemmings have more sense than Sims! UGH!!!
(I've noticed that once you come close to dying a certain way the game seems to make you autonomously repeat the action over and over. Is that my imagination, that once you oops once the game kind of "marks your Sim for fire/freezing/whatever"?)
