[PROBABLY MOD RELATED] Error Code 503:523abb9d:c909527b
I am now noticing that each time I try to SAVE my game progress I get this Error Code(code above in title), The game failed to save. I'm spending hours in game play and not able to save anything I worked on or played with the game........so frustrating!!! So when I go to shut down my game I hit the exit game and save as I go, thinking my progress has been saved only to come back and find nothing had been saved and the Sim is on a vacant lot or standing outside the home as if they just moved in.
I have reset all my settings to default and still it didn't help. I have packs downloaded, 4 from Origins and the original store bought disc of the Sims 4 Limited Edition. I really don't want to lose the Sims I've created and would like to play them again at some point down the road. Can anyone help me figure out what I should do on this!
I don't have mods in my game, though I did use MCCC before. I have ALL the packs. I started getting this as soon as the new update on March 15th as well. Origin won't let me repair the game, though I cleared that cache and removed MCCC. I CAN save builds and transfers between households, just not story progression. Until today, I could not access the gameplay or pack settings. As a matter of fact, it was only after the Wedding pack was released that I was suddenly able to access pack settings again. I had hoped that meant that the issue was fixed, but clearly it is not.
Crin, I have the same issue both with and without mods installed. Since the latest patch (march 15th) I can't save my game anymore, game failed to save error message 503:523abb9d:dab25892 . This is seriously breaking my game, I sat here for 5 hours creating a sim so I can start a new build, placed her on lot and went to save so I can shut down for the night, only to be relentlessly slammed with the error message. ☹️ Thankfully I did upload her to the gallery, so I can redownload her once this is patched quick I hope. I own all packs and pc has no issues, only the sims 4. Specs are well above required specs for sims 4. I too have MCCC as well as several other mods, but tested this with and without and took all but MCCC out until the others have updated post patch.
One mod that this error code has been definitively attributed to since the 1.85 patch is Zerbu's "All Worlds Residential" mod. If you have this mod, I suggest updating it, as Zerbu has already fixed the issue.
If you had the mod and removed it and are still getting the error code, do a game repair or a factory reset on your Sims 4 folder.
If you don't have or have never had this mod, it's possible there are other causes for this too, but the Zerbu mod is one that I know of for sure.
In addition there are some additional files/information that may be helpful to provide if you would like to report a bug.
These files will be located in documents\electronicarts\thesims4\
• lastCrash.txt (if it exists. If there is more than one, please include all of them.) • lastException.txt (if it exists. If there is more than one, please include all of them.) • lastUIException.txt (if it exists. If there is more than one, please include all of them.) • Config.log • the entire saves folder (you will not be able to add your saves folder to the post, please upload to some third party site and send a link)
To share those, please either use googleDrive or OneDrive to upload and share the link or upload them directly to your post. Files need to be < 20 MB to upload.
How to share files containing XML/HTML
There are several txt files that contain XML/HTML and hence aren't allowed for upload. There's several options how to provide those files.
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.
Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.
Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
Tray Folder
Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
ConfigOverride, if you have your own configuration files.
Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)
The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
Hello, I am currently unable to play the Sims 4, as I have encountered an error that does not let me save any progress in my game.
I will link a screenshot of the error here.
